Hotel LIVVO Lago Taurito & Aquapark

Just back from a week at this hotel with my partner, 3 kids, 5, 8 and 12 as well as my parents. We were also here 3 years ago and will be back again next year. Absolutely no complaints whatsoever. Will maybe a minor one which I will hit on. All of the staff are really lovely, polite and friendly. Housekeeping every day except Sunday i think and towels changed every other day. No issue getting sun loungers although some people leave towels out and don't seem to turn up for the day but in my mind this is the same as every other hotel and difficult to police. Food was excellent, my partner was really shocked at how good the food was and was better than more expensive places we have stayed in. It is so safe for kids, right near the beach too and a great water park. My advice to anyone thinking of going is just go. Anyone complaining on here at the price point this hotel is offered at needs to give their head a wobble. Great value and lovely place to stay.

Second consecutive year we have stayed here for 11 nights. The hotel is situated brilliantly with the beach at the bottom ( 5 min walk) water park then an 18 hole mini golf course and arcade which in the evening have trampolines for the kids! Can become a bit expensive though depending on how many kids you have. There are shops up and down outside the hotel for little gifts etc and a supermarket for food etc! Staff are great apart from the odd one or two who can be a little bit miserable! But on the whole they were great with kids and really helpful when needed. The bedrooms are ideal, cleaned daily apart from I think Mondays. We did have a couple of cockroaches which I managed to catch and dispose of and the cleaner sprayed around a few times, not that big of deal to be fair. The food was poor on the whole, breakfast was fine but lunch and dinner were very boring and pretty much the same stuff every day, a few times meats were not cooked through also. I get its AI and not five star but from the previous year I think the food was a lot poorer. On the whole though we really enjoy the holiday and will definitely be back.

The hotel itself is decent — the rooms are a bit dated but kept clean, which is the most important thing. The beds were comfortable, although only one pillow was provided per person. We requested more, and these were delivered the following day. Rooms were cleaned daily, although the bedding was not changed throughout our 12‑night stay. Towels were replaced every other day. It’s worth noting that this is the first hotel I’ve stayed in that doesn’t provide beach or pool towels, so you’ll need to bring your own. The hotel pool is small and mostly in the shade, which means it doesn’t get much sun throughout the day. However, you do get access to the water park included with your stay — a nice bonus, although it’s worth mentioning that the all‑inclusive food and drinks aren’t available inside the water park, you’re not allowed to take food or drink in either, yet the locals seem to be allowed to. The all‑inclusive buffet was typical of its kind — neither outstanding nor bad. The food was generally just warm, but a microwave was available if needed. The salad bar offered a good range of options, although it wasn’t kept cold. There was limited variety across meals, which felt repetitive after a long stay. The fresh fruit selection was also limited, and the dessert options mostly consisted of cream cakes that all tasted very similar, along with jellies and mousses. It’s fine for a week, but after 12 nights, we were tired of it. Location is one of the hotel’s biggest downsides. The area itself is very quiet, with very little to do, and almost every activity came with an additional cost. Unlike other hotels we’ve visited, things like mini‑golf or tennis came with a €5 per person charge, plus a €20 deposit. Overall, you’ll need to budget far more spending money than you expect, especially if traveling with a family. Evening entertainment was sparse, with only occasional low‑key magic shows or average singers, finishing by 10 pm at the latest. After that, there is little to do and nowhere nearby to walk to. The nearby beach is a short walk away, but it wasn’t worth visiting due to ashy sand and choppy sea conditions. Amadores beach, a bus ride away, was much nicer, with a fun inflatable water park (€10 per person for 45 minutes). We also visited the market in Puerto Mogan, which we found overpriced for largely knock‑off goods — better deals can be found in the shops in Puerto Rico. The highlight of our trip was an all‑day bus tour of the island, which we highly recommend. Book through Fred, located just outside the hotel, for the best price. The catamaran dolphin excursion was another enjoyable outing, including lunch. Overall, we had a pleasant stay, but we wouldn’t return due to the isolated location and high cost of keeping a family entertained.

Worst hotel we’ve ever been to. don’t spend your hard earned money in here. absolutely disgusting food and poor service. There was only one staff working for checking for a massive queue and we had to wait for 45 minutes to check in at 22:30. The food was the worst. I never eaten anything like that before the quality of the food was terrible and there was limited variety. They also placed our family to a different building even though we did the same booking and that was totally random. Their food was a bit better and we asked to eat at their hotel although we booked the same hotel we were not allowed. Never ever going back there again

This is by far the worst hotel I have stayed at in the last 5 years – and I travel 3–4 times a year. Please be aware: do not submit any complaints before you leave the hotel. I made a complaint a few days ago about the poor food quality, and when I asked at reception today about extending my room (our flight is in the evening), the receptionist – who was extremely rude – didn’t even bother to check the system and immediately said it was not possible. As a result, we will have to spend 6 hours waiting on the hotel sofas. The food is absolutely awful – old, stale, and often clearly not fresh. We ended up spending money on food outside the hotel despite paying for all inclusive. Do not book all inclusive – it is absolutely not worth it. I am extremely disappointed with the service and attitude of the staff. It seems that if you raise any concerns, they punish you instead of trying to help.

We was worried about going here due to the reviews we had read but on arrival it was okay, we arrived late and got given a sandwich, fruit and biscuits but wasn’t very nice so make sure you grab something on the way. The room was okay for a 3.5* hotel, the main bedroom was all set up and the sofa bed in the lounge area, clean towels was also in the bathroom with some sachet soap and shampoo. We had a kitchenette but no cups, cutlery, plates was provided. If you wanted a kettle you would have to hire it at a cost of 4 euros a day, the safe was 28 euros for a week but you get 10 euros back once you hand the key back in, you can also hire a iron for 3 euros for a day. The cleaners was very nice and polite but our beds was not changed for 1 week and my 1 yr old got cake in the travel cot which was covered up with another sheet. The restaurant staff was very polite and friendly no fault with their service at all, the food was okay as there was plenty of food choices and many dessert choices which my children loved. Some days the food was warm not hot but I think that’s due to the hot plate areas not being hot enough, plenty choice for your drinks from fizzy to juice to water and teas and coffees and hot chocolate and of course the Amstel and wines. The snack bar was burgers, hot dogs and cheese and ham toasted with a sweet snack also small pots of ice cream. Be careful around the pool as it does become slippery once it’s wet. They say not to reserve sunbeds but everyone did, they say to not fill bottles with the refreshments but again everyone did, they say no smoking in pool area or rooms but everyone did and they say no floats in the pool but of course you can, lifeguard also on duty. In the water park you have to pay for umbrella and sun bed mattress if you want them think it was between 3-4 euros, again not to take your own drinks and food but many people did as the bar was quiet expensive, the water park was really good but water was cold until the sun hit around 11-11.30, plenty of lifeguards also on duty. Entertainment was great for the kids(mini disco) and then adults from 9pm. I would suggest to get to the entertainment area early if you want a table as it’s shared across all the hotels and not much seating area, the arcade area was pricey plus soft play and trampolines which was 5 euros for 15mins each. They had mini golf but we did not play this so not sure how much this costed. Kids club in the day was great kids had plenty of fun 12 & 3 was the session times. The shops was expensive as not much else around to do apart from shop, highly recommend the bits and bobs shop as prices are great and not over priced like the rest, supermarket was also expensive as it’s the only one there. Lovely restaurant by the beach and very friendly, had to wait a little while for the food to be cooked but other then that the food was great and 5 euro for a cocktail which was amazing. If you have a late flight going home then your check out is 11 and your all
