ASURE Prince Motor Lodge

When first arrived, it was getting late and went to book in. The person was having problem with my wife card, so l pulled my card out to use, he wanted to know if we had credit card and we said no. Then he said you have to pay a bond because he mentioned there were problem he had. Due to being late we did, which my card had already worked. This female voice behind the glass kept on saying what the price of the room was. When we arrived to the room, we were very disappointed, the glass table has chipped edges which was very dangerous and sharp. The Tv we could not get any station, the one in the bedroom you could get some station. The place was very outdated and needed a lot of attention to bring it up to standard. The bathroom was terrible, the shower when you turned it on sprayed at you which made it difficult when it got warmed. For what we got charged was a disgraced. The next morning we went to hand the key to the room and the person got his fellow worker to check the room in case we done damage to it, mind you the room was way below standard. She came back so we could get our bond money, then said at least the TV is still there. Firstly the TVs are worth about $50.00 if we were going to steal them and sell them, probably a little bit difficult as we are from Australia and don’t know any one here in New Zealand. Over all the experience left us with the conclusion they were disgusting people shown very little RESPECT to their guest and need to educate themselves. In conclusion I would highly recommend not to book at this motel as the way they treat people is unprofessional.

Great location, terrible interior - all the furniture dates back to the 1980's. The aircon was not maintained, hummed loudly even when it was turned off. We had to go without aircon in the middle of summer! The owners offered as a 10% off voucher for a local cafe as compensation for 2 broken nights sleep. Expensive, dated, poorly maintained, poorly managed.

I really enjoyed our stay here! Fantastic location - walk to town and the lake and easy access to activities. Our room was very clean and tidy. The bathroom was warm and spacious and I absolutely LOVED the spa bath! So relaxing. The beds were also very clean and comfortable. Our room had a well equipped kitchenette and plenty of tea and real coffee. Awesome uninterrupted WiFi. Lovely hosts and very well run. Highly recommend, and would definitely stay again.

Sejour excellent, accueil très serviable et agréable. Hotel très bien situé, à proximité du lac et du centre ville. Chambre studio spacieuse. Coin kitchenette un peu petit mais operationnel.

Fabulous will definitely come again! Stayed 5 nights in a one bedroom unit over new year period. Big master with super king bed & huge tv with netflix, sky etc. Great bed and linen. Teenagers slept in lounge, bed each and another huge tv. Mini kitchen had everything you needed if you want to cook. Huge bathroom with great shower and big bath, great water pressure and plenty of hot water. Fantastic location and very quiet rooms. Super clean (keep up the good work cleaners!). Very short walk to shops, restaurants and the lake. Serviced each day which was a real treat. Congrats to Ron (& the team) for running a great motor lodge to high standards. Highly recommend

We were in Taupo for the 70.3 Ironman World Championships and the Asure Prince Motor Lodge was a great place to be based - 1 block away from transition and 10 minute walk to the swim start. Plus it was only a short walk to the main restaurant/shopping area. Ron is a great manager who goes out of his way to make your stay great. Will stay there for my next visit to Taupo.
