Great place. Great hosts. Very elegant and clean. Great breakfast. Only complaint is we didn’t stay long enough to fully enjoy. Only could stay one night for a wedding down the street. I would have loved to stay the entire weekend, just bad planning on my part.

What a beautiful bnb! It has been impressively made into a comfortable retreat. The owners are friendly and welcoming. The breakfast of huevos rancheros was yummy. The room was beautiful and the bathroom was spacious. We highly recommend this home for a quick retreat from the city.

We were fortunate enough to stay at George’s on York for a wedding that was in town. I’ve stayed in a number of bed-and-breakfast over the years and I have to say this was one of the nicest I’ve ever stayed in. The owners were just wonderful and so accommodating. We had to make a change to our reservation, which they did without hesitation or Difficulty. Our room was lovely with a ton of amenities, they have thought of everything to make your stay so comfortable and they greeted us with a wonderful breakfast in the morning that was absolutely delicious. I highly recommend anybody staying in the area or visiting in Gettysburg to stay at George’s on York, you won’t be disappointed.

Travelled to Maryland from Kutztown, PA to do some wine tasting with another couple. What a gem we found in Georges on York B&B. A fantastic choice , quality lodging, fine breakfasts offered by a wonderful couple. My wife and I are fairly new to the B&B scene, but we hit a homerun on this one. Georges on York by far is the finest we've scene. Chris & Sharon are the most delightful Innkeepers . . . warm, inviting, and engaging. The home was meticulously refurbished, well maintained, detailed, immaculate, and inviting from the private parking to the courtyard, the herb garden, and patio talks with Chris. You can tell the love they have for the home in conversations with them. And the breakfasts - Delightfully well prepared, farm to table and all locally sourced ingredients, right down to the butcher shop sausage behind the Inn. Chris and Sharon were captivating and a delight. They made us feel at home from the minute he greeted us. We would recommend this highly, top notch quality home away from home, and would absolutely stay again when in the area. If we could rate higher than 5 stars we would!

From the minute we walked in the door our B&B hosts Chris and Sharon were warm and welcoming. We were in taneytown for a wedding - but the entire stay was a celebration. George’s on York was perfect. Chris and Sharon had everything we needed and more. Little touches like tiki torches on the outside patio to beautiful well appointed cozy bedrooms. Highly recommend this B&B. Everything was beyond delightful.

We thoroughly enjoyed our visit to George's On York. Chris and sharon were very welcoming and happy to see us. The room was perfect, on the smaller side (my choice), but so well thought out that everything was there. The bed was very comfortable with the softest sheets. There was a fireplace (non-working) for ambiance along with an old door, salvaged from the barn, set up on a track as the bathroom door. The staircase was a piece of art with turn-of-the-century wood craftmanship and a beautiful stained glass mural in the middle. Breakfast was delicious with Sharon's berry french toast with elderberry syrup and Chris' smoked bacon. There was also homemade Irish soda bread with the inn's apple/pear butter and coffee along with special cinnamon cream. Juice, cucumber-infused water and teas were available for non-coffee drinkers. Chris and Sharon were very helpful with all there was to do in the surrounding area including shopping, restaurants for dinner and where to find the most phenomenal crabcake. We look forward to returning to Georges on York in Taneytown.

The inn was beautiful! We had such a wonderful time there. Sharon and Chris are attentive and accommodating innkeepers. They provided everything we needed for our stay as well as tips on places to go. The breakfasts were fabulous too! Our room was very comfortable and extraordinarily clean.

This B&B is full of surprises! The hosts are a delightful couple who bend over backward to make your stay comfortable. I had planned a family get-together for about 25 guests and Sharon and Chris helped me with all the arrangements including letting me hook my laptop to the main TV for family show and tell, box lunches from the bakery across the street and a lovely spread of fruit and deli on the side. The eevnt went off without a hitch and everyone loved the venue because of the renovation of this historic house. They have been able to maintain much of the original wall paper and the furnishings are lovely. I highly recommend this B&B as a wonderful place to launch visits to the surrounding, historical sites.

Chris and Sharon Tillman, the innkeepers at Georges on York, are absolute perfection. Friendly, helpful, knowledgeable about the area...and the inn itself is lovely without being "precious." This was a very comfortable place to stay and visit with local family, with two large main floor sitting areas and another, smaller, sitting area on the 2nd floor. The more casual of the two sitting areas is well stocked with games, books, and a large screen TV and DVDs. There is also ample outdoor seating in a lovely garden area. I am extremely sensitive to scented products, and was delighted to find that the luxurious bed and bath linens smelled CLEAN, not of some artificial fragrance. I appreciated the many small touches that make guests feel at home... small bottles of water and popcorn (!) in the room, snacks and coffee available at your convenience in the entry area. Breakfast was scrumptious! We have stayed at other B&Bs and this was the best breakfast to date. Both Chris and Sharon are excellent cooks, as well as hosts. Staying at Georges on York was a wonderful experience, and I can't wait to return.
