Terrible check in experience. Horrible client experience. We needed a hotel for my 18 yr old daughter to stay because of her universities mandatory hurricane evacuation. Being from NY thousands of miles away made the event very challenging. The Hotel would not let her check in because she was under 21. Even though they had my reservation confirmation number and Credit Card Information. Other Hotels were waiving this requirement, as my daughter was at another local hotel for the actual hurricane. She could not stay because I only booked that room for 3 days and they had no other rooms available for one more night. Calling around all other Hotels in the area were booked to capacity. Except the Barrymore. We begged, and pleaded with the front desk over the phone, but they would not allow her to check in without someone who was 21. We had no place to go no place to send my daughter. Again we begged and pleaded, but lost the battle. My daughter sat in the Lobby. It was not until I called back the hotel where she was originally staying that I explained the situation to that hotel manager, when THAT Manager offered to walk with my daughter TO the Barrymore and assist with the check in. Showing common decency is what makes the world go around. Be respectful. Be compassionate. Be Real. Shame on you Barrymore, for not showing common decency to parents trying to get a roof over their child's head during a hurricane evacuation. YOU FAILED!
