Scenic Matavai Resort Niue

Beautiful location, very accommodating staff and stunning island. We had our wedding here and the team at Matavai were great!

Fantastic experience. The garden rooms were beautiful — sea views and were close to both the pool and reception area.beautiful spot for sunsets! Airport transfers were seamless, and the staff were incredibly warm and approachable throughout my stay. A special shoutout to Sala and Shadow, who truly went above and beyond to make my stay memorable. Their kindness, attentiveness, and genuine hospitality made a lasting impression. resort has a social vibe; it was so easy to meet new people and make friends, which made the whole experience even better. Highly recommend this resort for anyone looking for a laid-back getaway

Had a fantastic week (28 Apr to 2 May 2025) at Matavai, staying in a Clifftop Room. Facilities are excellent - thanks to James and all of the crew. Tidy, clean, comfortable and well maintained. Often you see Hotel web photos that are outdated and do not represent what it realistically is :-( - this is NOT the case with Matavai - wot u see is wot u get. Food and Bev is very good. The resort is always happy to help with your holiday plans. They arranged our rental car (which you must have, to get around the island) and the daily "news-sheet" under the door is a good touch to remind you of the tide times and what's happening around the place. Niue Orientation Tour, with Keith was great. As was snorkeling just off-shore with Niue Blue. Special shout-out to Sala, Lagi, Kini and Shado !! They always greeted us by name, and were friendly and helpful with their service - thanks a lot !!! ~ you guys make the place !

We had a great, relaxing experience at Scenic Hotel Matavai. The location is stunning with breathtaking views of the ocean and lush surroundings that make you feel instantly relaxed. The room was clean, comfortable and well-equipped, perfect after a day of exploring. The incredible staff made our stay really special. From the moment we arrived, we were greeted with warm smiles and genuine hospitality. Every team member went out of their way to make us feel welcome and cared for, but a particular mention to Kini and Shadow who were consistently friendly and professional. Thank you for making our stay memorable!

Absolutely beautiful Island and the people are the most outstandingly friendly we have come across. The Island is unspoiled, no rubbish, hardly any tourists and beautiful facilities at the resort. Shadow in the bar gave fantastic service, as did all the other staff. The resort is lovely but maybe an option for some plainer food like toasties would be good for a lighter option.
