Good service with affordable price
Very good service, the breakfast was well served. It is worth the price. Recommend to pay a visit if you are driving

Amazing time in Taiji!
We had an amazing time at this hotel. We would return for sure. The outdoor onsen is beautiful and even thought there were other guests in the hotel, we were the only one using them, so it was quite relaxing.
The staff members were so welcoming and friendly, the food was just impeccable.
At breakfast time until we left, there was a pianist playing the piano. He was fabulous.
We loved everything!!

Room is spacious, Outside onsen is good but quite cold. Breakfast is surprisingly good and serviced by staff. Hotel area is very spacious and good photo-taking.

Facility needs updates but it has a nice ocean view and quiet onsen, located right next to the whale museum. I highly recommend including breakfast in your reservation. You’ll enjoy a quality breakfast with live piano. Stop by the roadside station or a convenience store to buy some food because dining options are limited.

Quiet and close to the whale museum. However, not many dinning options near by unless you drive. Public transport is limited as well.

A CAUTIONARY NOTE: This is a Japanese whaling/fishing town. If slaughtered/trapped dolphins and whales bother you, consider going elsewhere as you cannot avoid it here. There are pens of trapped wild-caught dolphins right out the window. I booked this hotel without doing enough research as a relaxing stay after hiking the Kumano Kodo and after minutes of driving into town, knew I had made a mistake. As a tender-hearted human who watched “The Cove” and “Whale Wars” I cannot believe I booked a hotel in the literal cove where thousands of wild dolphins are killed, sold, and hunted. It was my miss, so I thought I’d provide this so that you don’t make the same mistake. It looks as though other booking sites had these types of reviews, but ******* did not.
Otherwise, the view of the ocean and hills are beautiful, the staff are so kind and helpful, the breakfast is nice, and the outdoor onsen is peaceful. The rooms are OK, but could use some maintenance. There is a free shuttle to Kii Katsura a couple times a day, but otherwise you are pretty isolated at the hotel.
