Oh dear what a sad excuse for a hotel, one to miss if you travel through this area, better hotels to stay at I’m sure. Booked 1 night for myself, wife and 17 year old son. Room booked was a king bed with sofa bed. Problem no 1: The room is small and I mean small. You can’t actually open the sofa bed out because it hits the bedside cabinet to the king bed. After some pushing and shoving it was finally opened. I did wonder what all the damage was on the bedside unit when we entered the room, I know what caused it now. Now how do I walk to the Bathroom…..ah, I can’t. I’ll need to climb onto the sofa bed and walk over it to get to the bathroom, well that’s safe, hope there isn’t a fire in the night. Problem 2: Let’s make the sofa bed up, 2 bedsheets, 1 blanket, 4 pillow cases, ONE pillow, err how are 2 people supposed to sleep with 1 small pillow. Phone call to reception….sorry we don’t have any spare pillows…WTF, this is a massive hotel and you do’t have any spare pillows? No we are fully booked…really?… yes sir…..ok why can I still book a room for tonight then online ?….silence…… a question to far for staff to answer, I like to call it a stupid lie that can’t be substantiated. Problem 3: Staff who LIE, see above. Why do staff lie, it’s like taking candy from a baby exposing their stupidity, is it management that ask them to lie. Don’t lie guys it makes YOU look really stupid (directed to Kimberley on the front desk) Problem 4. I’m thankful I’ve got a rental car, it feels like the hotel is in a pretty poor area, park at your risk but make sure you are paid up on your car insurance and I guess hope for the best. Still the fast and the furious car races going on outside will no doubt leave you awake all night so you can keep an eye on your car. Problem 5. It’s a pretty tired hotel generally, I thought these kinds of hotels died off years ago, don’t care less as long as they take money off you type places. I’ve stayed in a lot of hotels on business, this is right at the bottom of the pile, tired place and tired staff. Problem 6. Staff who lie…..some 60mins after the initial request for pillows was declined, because they were fully booked, and not a pillow to spare, a loud bang on the door and a miserable looking security guard arrived with 3 pillows. What luck, some guests must have checked out just after midnight…freeing up a supply of pillows. How lucky were are that they have left, totally blindsiding the front desk. Hmmmm, as I said staff who lie
