The Swiftwater

Staff was not accommodating. Booked this to celebrate just getting married and the swiftwater cancelled our reservation. They sent a confirmation letter through *******, stating that they processed my cancellation request (which never happened) however the title of the attachment was “confirmation” and ******* showed the reservation as active. The hotel gave mixed information on whether it was sold out or not. Front desk just wanted to get us off the phone rather than work with us to get a place to stay. Eventually they offered us a room at triple the price that we booked it at. We had such a bad taste in mouths from the experience that we declined and drove home. I am sure the hotel is wonderful once you are there! However the booking experience for such an expensive hotel was strange.

We stayed at Swiftwater as a half way stopped on the way to visit our granddaughter in college. We arrived earlier than expected, but they were able to accommodate us and even gave us a room upgrade. The room was beautiful and immaculately clean. There is a great outdoor patio with a firepit, gas torches and plenty of seating. We had an excellent Old Fashion at the bar, courtesy of Roarie(?), a great bartender. We had dinner and breakfast at the Olivet restaurant, both good meals, although pricey. We are definitely looking forward to our next visit!

So we stayed at The Swiftwater from Monday to Wednesday to celebrate my husband's birthday. I booked a concierge room for access to the private lounge. Prior to arriving I spoke with front desk Amanda who was amazing with recommendations and options that the concierge team can help arrange to make it special for my husband. My interaction with her made us excited to come and her recommendation outside the hotel we really appreciated. The hotel was nice and clean. The concierge lounge provides 24 hr drinks as well as continental breakfast in the am. The lounge also has sushi made from Desaki which was great i wanted to eat it all. The concierge Heavenly was also great in helping to arrange our spa appointment along with decorating the room as i also purchased the celebratory package. We went to Serenity spa, the hotel provides transportation: Justin and Felix were our drivers they were amazing and also took us to the outlets and picked us up. The breakfast at the Olivet was amazing. We had complimentary breakfast (included with celebratory package) that was very good, my husband loved his shrimp and grits. The hotel is not to far from Mount Airy and Kalahari which we are at both. Our room was clean and we were able to see many deer coming down for feeding from our window. I was very disappointed with the check out service when we were leaving. I noticed we were double charged for gratuity twice for breakfast. When we complained that the extra charge (a lil over $10) is not the fault of us but due to error of the waitstaff. After their "investigation " the service manager Isiah and front desk manager Ernst stated we were still responsible. I was not happy and requested to speak with the manager Ernst who i was told was not available to discuss but that they would now refund the extra charge. What left a bitter taste in our mouths was that even though it was just $10 the hotel acted as if it was justifiable to charge separate tax to our meal and then for our drinks when it should have been 1 bill. The implication as if we did something wrong and trying to get over on $10 and the lack of acknowledgment from the management (as I requested a call back and it never happened) is a reason I would hesitate to return to Swiftwater. There was a lot of hype regarding this hotel that surprised us with the outcome on checkout. Even though my husband enjoyed his birthday we doubt we would come back to stay at Swiftwater.

Excellent hotel. Clean and very nice vibes. Comfy beds, nice heated pool, cool fire pit, friendly atmosphere. We did not eat in restaurant in hotel but did have dinner at the Japanese restaurant on the property and it was top notch! Highly recommend

My wife and I just stayed at the Swiftwater and had an great experience! The hotel is beautiful, the staff is friendly, the room was really nice in every way. We ate dinner at The Olivet restaurant - I had the filet mignon which was just delicious - my wife, who has a lot of dietary restrictions, was accommodated by the chef and given a meal that fit her needs perfectly. The hotel is quite close to both Mount Airy Lodge and Kalahari resort, so if you want lots of action in your vacation, you can certainly visit both of those properties and partake in all they have to offer. The Swiftwater is adult oriented, and quiet by design - hanging out at the huge fire pit out back is pure relaxation. I highly recommend it!

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️. Great Breakfast and GREAT dinner with GREAT drinks! Spectacular service. Try the Vincent’s Old Fashioned, the Charlie’s Angel, or the Dante’s Inferno Marg. All are great! Local beers, curated wine list. Food Service from Jason, serving great dishes from Roberto, drinks from Rob, designed by Chris. Great location and amenities, including 90* year-round pool. 4 season outdoor dining room, concierge lounge, super high-end bourbon selection.
