Karolina Hotel

Wir sind z.Zt. in diesem Hotel im Urlaub. Das Personal ist sehr nett, zuvorkommend und fleißig! Das Buffet lässt zu Wünschen übrig! Morgens gibt es kaltes Rührei mit Bacon der vielleicht einmal knusprig war. Auch wenn man Mittags und Abends Warmes Essen erwartet, wird man meist enttäuscht. Über lauwarm geht die Essenstemperatur meist nicht hinaus. Eine Mikrowelle zum aufwärmen wäre praktisch. Zeitweise erscheint der Service, der ausnahmslos aus sehr jungen Leuten besteht, etwas überfordert. Da kann es einem schon mal passieren, daß mein den Müll der Vorgänger selbst wegräumen muss. Tisch abwischen? Fehlanzeige! Hauptsache die mutmaßliche Chefin steht gestreng im Speiseraum herum.

We visited hotel karolina on the 4th of July. This was our first visit to Bulgaria. All the receptionist staff where very lovely and friendly and most of all helpful. Our rooms where very clean and changed daily. The pool area was lovely, if you want a sunbed next to the pool, I would recommend putting a towel out early to save a spot for yourself because the sunbeds where taken quickly. There is a sun bed area away from the pool area if you can't get one near the pool anyway. The food wasn't to my taste (but I'm a really fussy eater) you will be able to eat something. The cocktails I didn't really like on the all inclusive, but again I'm really fussy with alcahol when I'm drinking. The local larger was OK tho! There is reaustraunts and supermarkets very close by. The bus stop is just around the corner too. Nessabar is about 15 mins away. Crazy golf was fun and that's just across the road from the hotel. The beach was very close and was lovely. Water sports was brilliant and quite cheap too. I really loved Bulgaria it was brilliant and the people was so lovely. I would definitely stay at this hotel and I would 100% visit Bulgaria again. Oh and the bar staff where great too!

Upon arrival was told I will be met at the hotel with our key and WiFi router we had paid for, however was driven to theyre offices and told to pay in full, after an hour of arguing that we’d already paid and him finally able to wake his boss up as it was 1am they gave us our keys and took us to our complex. After waking in the morning I took a look around, there exposed electrics, the shower hanging off, the shower door had gone and was replaced with a grotty falling apart curtain, there were 5 of us staying in this apartment 2 adults and 3 children, there was enough warm water for 2 out of 5 of us to shower warm, the water tank would take hours to fill back up and get warm again, plus without warning it drops all over the floor and if you don’t have a bowl under it to catch the water you will find your bathroom has a small river flowing through it. they display pics of karolina hotel and the pool which have nothing at all to do with these apartments but they will allow you to use , the gym you can hire off them for 10kg a day, spa was shut down, not sure why, resteraunt was nice, pool was nice and looked after but as I say these belong to the hotel, the thing that will catch you out is all these beautiful pictures are of the hotel which has nothing to do with they’re private apartments so when I went to the reception I was told that they can’t do anything as that’s nothing to do with them. They are displaying pictures of beautiful hotel rooms which are not the rooms they gave us, our room was supposed to be air conditioned throughout as we asked, the big room had air con for the two sofa beds my kids had to sleep on but our room had a fan to keep us cool, the beds were uncomfortable no good at all for your back, we paid for cleaning and change of towels etc, nobody came once, even though I tried to complain the hotel said it’s nothing to do with them. We also paid for an extra day as our flight back was at midnight and didn’t want to be stuck holding our suitcases all day from 10am so they told me at the beginning of the holiday we’d be picked up at 9pm outside our apartment entrance on Friday 15th I said ok, at 7.30pm that night I got a call from a Bulgarian number to make sure all is ok, this someone who called me doesn’t speak English well at all and told me in very broken English that they collection the next day is sorted, at which point I said I don’t want picking up the next day, you have all my flight details and you knew and agreed to pick me up in an hour and a half from now at 9pm Friday yet your phoning me and you don’t know anything about it. You try explaining all that to someone who doesn’t speak English when you only have 90 mins before your supposed to be on your way to airport. Lastly all complaints fell on deaf ears I told them about my room, the defects, the fact the hotel didn’t wanna know, the fact it didn’t get cleaned once. The oven they give you won’t close and has no visual displays to tell you temperature or if it’s

On arrival, reception, small but quite rich looking. That’s were it ends, shown to our room, you have to leave complex and go onto street to get access. Room was over looking street and not the pool area, this was fine as there was plenty of activity but you had to endure the smell from the horses right outside your window at times and it was disgusting. Air con only in living area and didn’t work properly so many sleepless nights, couldn’t leave doors open due to street noise and bites from insects. Pool area very small and always water around the sun loungers which was dirty and never washed away( smelly). There was a raised sunbathing area which was quiet but beds were filthy. Food was very hit and miss we were All Inclusive and ended up eating out, son wouldn’t even go for breakfast. No AI drinks after 11pm and guests paying seemed to get priority when waiting to order. Over all very disappointing as previous reviews were good, it’s situated at the edge of the resort so you have to travel quite a bit to get anywhere which was extra expense, rooms are basic and old fashioned . It was maybe 4 star 20 years ago but would be lucky to now get 3. This is one family who won’t be returning.
