Premier Inn Sunderland A19/A1231

We have stayed here several times while visiting family and it used to be pretty good, but it's rapidly going downhill. The hotel and restaurant are both desperately in need of a refit. The shower in our room - 116 - barely worked, just a trickle of water from the middle of the shower head, which was broken and couldn't be adjusted. The fan didn't work at all, but that isn't unusual, the last time we stayed (different room) it didn't work either. Presumably this is why people have to leave the bathroom door open, setting off the smoke alarm. WiFi as usual was poor, had to keep logging in. This happens in all Premier Inns, why? Had to ask for water glasses, not provided as standard anymore. On the plus side,the bed was comfortable and the room clean, the reception staff friendly and pleasant. We had a cooked breakfast, which was pretty awful. It was self service. Good quality food ruined by being cold, every single item was cold - sausage, bacon, eggs, hash browns, mushrooms. The toaster toasted on one side only so the bread had to be put in again, and came out incinerated. The restaurant was a disgrace. Padded bench seats with the stuffing hanging out, furnishings grubby and in need of replacement. I don't think we'll be going back. What a pity no-one ever replies to these reviews, obviously they don't care.

Amazing stay. I was very stressed with wifi and Mel helped calmed me down and empthasied with my situation. Rooms spot on. Mel is a credit to the company. Always great stay regular stay always stay at this hotel close to town and other amenities are within reach so thank you Sunderland I will see you All again soon next time I will stay a little more time the only thing I want is to chose a back room and would like to have movies and Netflix

Clean and comfortable with two singles and a double bed; the perfect set up for us and the children. Breakfast was fantastic and the while trip was very reasonably priced. We are already planning to use this hotel again when visiting family in Roker.

Convenient location, good quality service. The hotel room was clean, nice and spacious. Breakfast offered with a wide variety of food. All the staff were friendly and helpful. I use this hotel during my business trip, returning again, albeit Sunderland offers more hospitality options, this is my preferred place to stay whilst in Sunderland. Ive been staying here for long time now had no problems with rooms.Rooms are very clean staff are very friendly mel jack Danielle and karen will go out there way to help very good spot for shops ect.Not to far from the beach.Car park as electric charges in now. I would recommend this hotel to stay at
