Review of Quality Inn: First, the bad – • There is no elevator in this hotel. If you are assigned a room on the second floor, you’ll need to navigate the stairs. For those who are handicapped, you are out of luck. • The desk chair in the room is broken. When sitting in it the chair lowers to the lowest setting. Even after adjusting the dial, it still lowers when one is sitting in it. The maintenance guy looked at it and said there was nothing wrong with the chair. IT IS BROKEN, no matter what excuses are given or what is said and should be FIXED or REPLACED. • Electrical. When the heater or refrigerator or bathroom lights turn on or off, the television loses power for about a second. There is something wrong with the electrical in the room we stayed in. Is that faulty electrical a fire hazard? • The hot tub leaks and cannot be used. We were told at check-in not to use this hot tub. It takes up a lot of space in the room. It should either be FIXED or REMOVED. If removed, this area would be a great place for a dining table and two chairs. Or a larger office area. • The bathroom is rather small and the toilet sits low to the ground. For older people this is a troublesome area. It is not handicap accessible. • On day 6 of our stay, our room access cards stopped working. The woman at the front desk re-programmed them and they still did not work. She had to use a master keycard to get us into our room. The maintenance guy was to replace something in the door lock for them to work. Either it was not passed along to him or he didn’t address the issue because the door lock continued to not work. We told the manager on a Saturday morning and that night it took about six tries before the door opened. FIX THE DOOR LOCK! • Because of weather we extended our stay by one day. It was then we learned that we were being charged a higher rate for the room because it had a hot tub. That is the same hot tub that we were told, at the time of check-in, not to use because it leaked. So, if we can’t use the hot tub then why were being charged a higher rate because of it? Now to the good – • The outside premises, the lobby and the pool area were all very clean and seemed to be well maintained. • There is a rack with pamphlets for local attractions and restaurants. For someone not familiar with the area, this information is a nicety. • There is coffee station in the lobby, but the coffee is sometimes cold. • Noise. While the hotel is on a busy street and a major highway just blocks away, the room is mostly quiet. Traffic noise was minimal. • Traffic navigation. A major highway leading to other areas of Sun Prairie, Madison, or the Interstate is easy and close by. • Restaurants & shopping. There are numerous restaurants, grocery stores, and other retail stores in Sun Prairie. If one doesn’t want to go to Madison, one doesn’t have to. If going to Madison, East Towne Mall and a lot restaurants are only minutes away. • All the staff we dealt with were very
