I wish I could give this hotel a -10, but alas, I cannot. Back in January of 2024, we booked a room for April 8-9 for the full solar eclipse in TX. We did our due diligence and booked far in advance, knowing there would be a high volume of people. On April 6, we received conformation for our reservation on the 8th. We arrived to find the HOTEL HAS BEEN CLOSED FOR 4 MONTHS. Nothing online says its closed, we received a confirmation 2 days ago, and yet this hotel is being remodeled. We figured SURELY Wyndham would help us, but upon calling, we were told there is nothing they can do. They wouldn't even give us more points on our account to help us book another room. Most hotels in this area are completely booked, and the ones with availability are 4 to 5 times more expensive than our original booking. The man on the phone said that he could submit a complaint that would be resolved in 1-2 WEEKS. He couldn't seem to understand (or at least didn't care) why that's a problem for tonight. After a substantial time on the phone being told that they won't help us find a new location (i.e. told us that their customer service is completely worthless), we will now be watching the eclipse, and then driving six hours away to a different hotel... I will never stay in a Wyndham hotel again. Sure, they may be decent, but buyer beware if you have any sort of problem... because they could not possibly care less about their customers.
