Hotel Alexandra Loen

First impression : big hotel Wrong Owners have managed over the years to expand and there are a lot of rooms. Yet inside they kept the atmosphere of family-run business. Excellent spa (& massage :) ) Room was good (fjord view) with only 1 comment : one a smoker uses the balcony to smoke... you get the filthy smell in your non-smoking room. Closing the window ... Food : big dining room. Buffet is excellent (not at all a "eat all you can" experience) with good quality. Same for breakfast

Hotel con encanto situado en el valle de Olden, con bonitas vistas. La habitación es muy amplia, tipo suite y tiene balcón. El baño es correcto y tiene salones amplios y lujosos donde se sirve el desayuno tipo bufé, que es muy completo. También tiene bar en el que preparan muy buenos cócteles. Destacar que, como llegamos pasada la hora de la cena, que teníamos incluida, nos tenían preparada una cena fría muy completa. Este hotel es perfecto para visitar el valle de Olden, el glaciar Briksdal o el fiordo de Geirander.

This hotel is wonderful. The desk staff were all friendly and helpful. Our room faced the fjord and it was lovely. The room size was large with beds and a sitting are consisting of a sofa, coffee table and chair. There was also a desk and chair. The bathroom was a nice size. The beds were a bit soft for our liking. We enjoyed their spa that included an inside pool, 3 saunas, a cold pool and a rooftop jacuzzi. We got a Mahanna massage and it was wonderful. They provide towels and robes. Their room includes dinner and breakfast. They are both buffets and have a large varieties of foods to try. All was delicious.

Hotel espectacular. Vistas magníficas. Ubicación excelente. Limpio. Habitaciones muy amplias y acogedoras, con balcón hacia un paisaje indescriptible. Sin duda repetiría. Buen y variado desayuno. Instalaciones reformadas y con una amplia oferta.

We stayed here for two nights as part of a trip through the fjords with our teenage kids. The first night, there was an outdoor grill buffet that was delicious with lovely outdoor seating. The second night, we ate inside, which had a very different ambience. Still nice, but definitely a lot more crowded as a few tour groups had arrived. For both evening meals, there were many many types of food available with gluten-free and vegetarian options. Breakfast was also really nice. The service was excellent in the restaurant and the hotel as a whole. The fitness room was really large and had a lot of options (treadmills, weight lifting, yoga mats). The pools were also really lovely with a small (but very fast!) separate water slide. The outdoor pool was lovely and the indoor pool felt very much like part of a spa. My husband enjoyed the sauna. There was a hot tub inside and outside. The rooms were spacious and the beds were comfortable with good blackout curtains. The bathroom was great with a lovely shower. Loen is a great starting point for outdoor activities.

The Alexandra is a very beautiful hotel in a spectacular setting. If you are active I would suggest 2 nights so you can hike or do other active things. The hotel is great and the food amazing. The rooms are nice, some bigger, some smaller. Nice turndown service for the sofa bed for our child. Both dinner and breakfast buffets are very nice.
