Ferry Inn ★★★

"The Ferry Inn had comfortable and clean accommodations. Everyone on the staff was incredibly friendly and polite. The location really is just about 1 minute to the ferry terminal which also serves as the bus terminal so all your transport needs are steps away. I would return and stay here in a heart beat. I had a few issues. We stayed in the main building on the top floor. This has 3 issues. 1. The stairs to the top floor (in particular) are quite narrow and steep. I have a bad knee and while i could negotiate those stairs if i had any more serious mobility issues it would have been an issue. 2. The ceiling on the top floor is about 6'2" high. I am 6 foot and the ceiling felt close if I were a taller person it would have been a more serious issue. 3. The wifi was very intermittent in our room. When connected it was quite strong but it dropped a few times an hour."

The Royal Hotel Stromness ★★★

"Went for a drink on a Sunday afternoon, the barmaid with long grey hair ignored me at the bar for 5 minutes, walked past twice to chat to her pals, so we left. The pub dog was friendly, but not exactly a warm welcome. Shame as everyone else in Stromness seemed very nice."

The Stromness Hotel by Paymán Club ★★

"Saapuessamme (kaksi kertaa) meille kerrottiin, että meillä ei ollut palkkaa ja meidän oli todistettava, että meillä oli. Kuvitelisin, että se on melko kallista, mutta se on kilpailun puuttuessa paikallisesti, ja odottaisi neljä tai viisi tähtihuoneistoa 178 puntaa (kaksosen) eikä kolme tähteä. Aamiainen ei sisälly £178! Juomaluvan puuttuminen on outoa. Äänen musiikki tulee keittiöstä alle klo 11:00 (keskeytettiin, kun valitimme, mutta ei olisi pitänyt). Sähköiset paikalliset ovat paljon huonoja tarinoita tästä hotellista, joten se tarvitsee nostaa pelin vahvistaa hyvä maine. Henkilöstö näytti hyvä mutta paineen alaisena."

"Hostess & host were both very friendly & responsive. Everything was clean & comfortable. Guest had a shared tv room with several comfortable sofas. Breakfast was very good and generous. Ensuite had a very good shower and host cleaned every day and made beds. Great view above Stromness, across pasture with cows. Thank you!!"
