Thoroughly enjoyed a lovely stay at this hotel. Staff were lovely and helpful, our room was on the 4th floor on side with sunshine on our balcony first thing in the morning, spotlessly clean, couldn't fault it. We only ate breakfast at the hotel, but it was lovely with plenty of choice. The hotel feels quite regal and ornate but it's friendly and welcoming with good quality lounge areas. The barman offers old style impeccable service. The roof terrace has great views over the lake, but it feels like more could be done with it? A big wasted space with outstanding views. The weather was very mixed in September so sadly didn't use the pool. It's a good 20 minute walk into Stresa but we usually got a taxi back for 10euros! The walk down to where to the ferries go to the 3 islands was only 5 minutes away and just to add, there's a really nice what is like a cafe during the day but turns into a really nice restaurant in the evening with excellent food, The Il Cafe Lidrovolante. Fabulous lake views with a lovely terrace. A great option if you can't be bothered walking into Stresa! Of the 3 islands, I loved Isola Pescatori - very traditional, lovely cobbled streets with some great restaurants and views for lunch. Also Isola Bella for the gardens are a must - they are simply stunning. I'd 100% recommend this hotel and would happily return.

My wife and I have just returned from another excellent holiday staying at the Hotel Royal in Stresa on Lake Maggiore. This was our 9th visit to the hotel and we can't fault anything about it. From the moment we arrived until our departure nothing was any problem to the management and staff. All were so helpful polite and friendly. All can speak English along with several other languages. The hotel is in an ideal situation for getting boats to other towns and islands on the lake. The ferry terminal is only about a 5 minute walk down the hill. The railway station is around 20 minutes away and the town centre is roughly a 30 minute stroll along the lake side. There are plenty of cafes where you can stop for refreshments. The whole holiday was 5* and we have already booked for 2025! Thank you all for making our holiday so enjoyable.

Lovely family run hotel in a perfect location. The hotel is well maintained and very clean. The owner fills the lobby with fresh flowers daily. Almost all the rooms have at least a partial lake view. The top floor patio has an amazing view of Isola Bella . Stress is a flat 15 minute walk Ali g the lake promenade. The hotel is a one block walk to the ferry docks for trips to the islands. It’s very quiet. Lovely bar and lobby areas indoors and out.

Excellent location beautiful old hotel good attention , the swimming pool area very nice and good breakfast, I don't remember the name of the guy that work at the bar but was really nice with my sister and I. Thank you so much was a pleasant stay.

What a wonderful week! I am mid fifties and travelled solo with Inghams for a week. My room was very spacious with a very comfortable bed, ample storage and a great balcony with beautiful views of the grounds and the lake. The grounds and swimming pool were fantastic and the hotel gives you a pool towel. No issues getting a lounger. I am vegetarian and was half board. Breakfast was an amazing selection of food. You order dinner at the breakfast and the lovely head waiter negotiated food for the evening and it was delicious. The whole hotel is beautiful, an expanded villa with so many lovely pieces, paintings, sofa areas etc. I enjoyed a cocktail in the bar, the safe is free and housekeeping was efficient. It is superbly situated for the Carciano ferry point so you can get around easily. I had a brilliant week, it was good value for money, Stresa is gorgeous and I would not hesitate to recommend.

Fomos muito bem recebidos neste hotel, equipe atenciosa em todos os momentos. Quartos muito bons e bem cuidados. Café da manhã completo em um amplo salão e com uma equipe bem gentil atendendo aos hóspedes. Nessa mesma área é possível jantar a noite com um menu definido e reserva antecipada. Estacionamento no local bem amplo, mas pouco precisamos usar o carro, o hotel é muito bem localizado. Se você descer a rua onde ele está já pode apanhar o barco que te levará a conhecer as ilhas Borromees (atenção ao nome da estação para não esquecer quando voltar). E do hotel você pode caminhar por ampla calcada ao lado do lago Maggiore ate o centro da cidade de Stresa, uma caminhada de uns 20 minutos com visual muito bonito. Recomendamos.
