The Kings Arms Hotel

This is a great old place and is obviously tired in places but if you want a good nights sleep then don’t choose a hotel on the main square Lots of noise and light No breakfast service dispute being on the booking ?? Only informed upon arrival

Bad experience Horrible stay , no air conditioning/. no fan / hot and cold water bad / bad smell all around the hotel . Never go back there again.

Disappointing Booked for the lads for working away. They were disappointed with the cleanliness. ***** in the bedding and in the bathroom. They have asked me not to book this one ever again.

Disapointed, expensive but not fully delivered Was looking forward to my stay in the heart of my hometown. Room spacious clean, but was like a sauna when i walked in. Had to leave the window propped open to let the heat out and some air in. Even the complementary water bottles tasted like warm tap water. Very comfy bed and good nights sleep. However, i was staying there are a group of friends choose this hotel for christmas dinner get together. They said we needed to pay for the food, which we had paid in advance, the friend who booked it showed the paynent from her account. Only to be told point blank, well we dont have it in our accout. No, oh im sorry but there is/was an issue with paynent, just you have to pay again and sort it out your end. She said if you leave without paying the money will be docked from our wages!! When asked so what next then, just more almost aggressive you have to pay with no work or effort or appology to solve the solution their end. She was very demeaning to staff in front of customers also. A little more emotional intellegence or customer service training required for the manager i think! Oh and to top it off, went down for breakfast to be told there is none!! No notice anywhere to say they were not serving. So packed and got out of dodge..... previous stats there never a problem.

Don’t waste your money So disappointed. The photos and description make you think you’re staying at a quaint little village coach house. Wow. So run down and tired. Bed was so noisy with creaks that I couldn’t move without waking up the whole hotel. It’s wasn’t clean. Plug sockets hanging off the walls. Shower was a sprinkle at best. It was like a ghost town. Not one single person seen apart from the receptionist/watchman for the whole stay. Eerily quiet. Not one single good thing to say about it. I could have stayed in. Premier Inn and saved myself the extra £50. Didn’t even stay for breakfast.

Nice enough place and reasonably priced Nice enough place and was fine for one night. Customer service and welcome could have been a bit friendlier as it didn’t feel like I was welcomed. Nice furniature in the room to go with the building and comfy bed but work needs to be done to the room. My room had very bad TV reception, a broken window letting a bad draft in and a leaking tap. Things like power switches needed fixing and a better clean of smaller areas would make the place much nicer as there were stains on the floor. Still worth it for one night and well situated in the town. Very reasonable for the price
