The Unicorn (Apartments)

Outstanding place, specious, immaculately cleaned. We stayed for Christmas and New Years Eve. Host and members of staff very welcoming, professional and very responsive. Free carpark across the road is a bonus included in the price. Not to mention you get a choice of a shower and a bath in each apartment. Underfloor heating was 5 stars for us. Not to mention the luxurious furniture and the Nespresso machine with a selection of coffee pods, refreshments free of charge in a fridge/freezer. Large smart TV . We also got a bottle of red wine and white wine for Christmas and New Year. Value for money is a bargain 4 people staying at just over £60 each. Highly Recommended.

l start with the positives …. Good location, free car parking & spacious. The reality….. It’s not maintained properly, is far from clean, underfloor heating doesn’t work, bathrooms ridiculously cold, thermostats not working etc. The worst issue is the owner/manager. An unprofessional, aggressive fantasist. I reported a very genuine issue to them whilst staying there, and they went absolutely nuts. Sending incoherent messages to the point where I had to block their number. Music and singing had been coming from the apartment above us until the early hours … the owners response “that’s just people having fun, stop stalking me and my staff”. Whilst there I never met any staff, not an issue at all, but the owner randomly started accusing me of stalking the staff on social media. Not sure how you do that when you don’t know anyone’s names but that gives you an idea of how irrational it got. I made contact with one number, the number given by the establishment to make contact! According to said owner, they have evidence of me taking 5 friends into the apartment with me and 2 dogs. Again, not true. I was also accused of being abusive to the night staff ……. never met or even knew there was night staff, not true. Don’t book here, genuinely it’s a scary version of faulty towers. We checked out early because my daughter and I were actually concerned by the very weird behaviour. Thankfully we took pictures and videos of how we left the apartment because we knew they would make false accusations of its state & condition ….. which sure enough they did. No doubt there will be some bizarre comeback from said owner. Thankfully we can all smile about it now we’re safely home (that’s me, my five imaginary friends and the two invisible dogs). Seriously, book elsewhere. I’ve been visiting this area for work & pleasure for years and this is the only place that I’ve ever had a bad experience with.

Really enjoyable stay with family a friends in a very spacious apartment will all the amenities, beautifully decorated with fresh flowers. Underfloor heating was 5 stars we loved it. Spotlessly cleaned and very professional and responsive staff. Value for money. The place had just been refurbished 2 years ago pictures on tripadvisor are old.

Exceptional. We had an amazing stay the place is outstanding and immaculately cleaned. Extremely spacious Morden and comfortable. We absolutely loved it. Nespresso machine was a bonus with amazing flavour coffee choices. And we had an alarm lamp and lamp chargers. Selection of biscuits, tea and coffee, hot chocolate, sparkling and still water. The staff is extremely helpful and very responsive. Highly recommend.

September 28, 2024 - As we prepared to go to bed, I turned down the comforter and my hand was wet! Although the top of the comforter was dry, the sheet was saturated with water. Not just damp, but soggy! There was no apparent reason for it to be WET while the duvet was dry on top! Was this someone's idea of a prank?? Our granddaughter booked this hotel and we didnt want her to feel bad so we spread the protector on top of the one side. AND TRIED TO SLEEP. WHEN NOTIFIED of the problem, you essentially did nothing in response. At The LEAST we would expect a partial refund to our granddaughter by the name of Jessica R. I don't know whether the reservation was made through TripAdvisor or not, but felt the hotel should see a review especially for the extraordinary circumstances.

Absolutely stunning place. Incredibly cleaned, modern and lots of choices to eat. You are right in the heart of Stow on the Wold. Posh coffee, biscuits, hot chocolate which kids loved. Extremely specious you can get lost in such a large apartment massive TV screen. Welcoming host, very well trained staff. Please note that they don’t have a reception and you will need to make a payment before arrival in order to gain access. Although the manager Ella was kind enough to allow us to pay near of the time of arrival we still had to pay to gain access which is totally understandable. We loved it definitely returning and highly recommend.
