Premier Inn Stourbridge Town Centre

Air-conditioning not working on a very hot night. Windows can't open in the room with zero airflow and unbearably hot all night. We left at 6am after very little sleep and were so keen to get out didn't bother raising it with the young member of staff who was clearly very tired himself at that time of the day. I have to say that if the Air-conditioning was working we may have felt a lot less grumpy and actually felt it was good value for money. We did read a card on the room that only referred to heating, so believe perhaps there was no air-conditioning. There was also no air flow though which made for an unbelievably stuffy and unbearably hot night. The room itself was clean and tidy and as expected. I wouldn't describe this Premier Inn as appealing, overall unfortunately a miserable experience.

I had the misfortune of booking into the premier inn in stourbridge yesterday. Whilst waiting in reception all that could be heard was one member of staff shouting at another. By shouting it was loud enough for several of us that were waiting in reception to hear what was going on behind a closed door. The woman doing the shouting (Rachel I looked at her badge later) behaved in what I can only describe as a vile and aberrant manner and if that is what premier inn consider professional then they have a lot to learn. The way in which she shouted at the other woman behind the door was quite frankly disgusting. She could be clearly heard telling the other woman off, whilst all in reception could hear incontrollable sobbing. Rachel sounded aggressive in her manner, shouting get back on reception and deal with the guests, which only made the other woman cry even louder. Then out came Rachel with a plastic smile painted on her face as if nothing had been happening. I was genuinely concerned for the other member of staff as she could still be heard crying in the small room to the right of reception. I hope that the member of staff is ok (I would have walked out actually I would have run let alone walked if that is how I had been spoken to) And if the woman had been my wife, mother or daughter Rachel would have had a tongue lashing of her own delivered in reception for all to hear. What a vile member of staff.

Overall the stay was pleasant. The room was tidy, enough tea and coffee facilities. The only problem we had was the smell in the communal areas. I think this is down to lack of fresh air. We didn't have a window that could be opened and relied on air con for fresh air but unless you get this cleaned regularly there is always a slightly stale odour. After a few hours I became used to it but it the first impression I was abit taken back. Apart from the smell, everything else was good. Friendly staff, quick check in etc.

The staff were extremely helpful. Particular thanks to Maz for welcoming us on arrival and us helping to sort out a taxi.

Great one night stay with meal deal. Great value for the money. Rachael and Steph provided a good service in the restaurant

Just want to say thanks to Rachel, and the rest of the staff, for a brilliant 2 day stay here with my Autistic son, wife and my other two kids. We had a family room which was massive. Rooms were clean, great value for what I paid for the 2 nights. My brother and sister in law stay in Stourbridge so we were down here from Glasgow to visit them, and were literally 8 mins away from there home, so we’ll definitely be back using this Premier Inn again. Rachel you should definitely consider babysitting, the way you calmed my son down after he had autistic tantrum which was my fault as I came into the reception area without him, being a typical man, I was looking to book in at reception. If you’re a parent of an autistic child you understand everything you do, you do it with your child’s consideration as everything is a routine. Thank you so much the great stay, we’ll be back 100%. You’re about 40 mins from Birmingham City Centre from this location. The Resturant is next door, and brilliant. Large Carpark area and ample disabled spaces next to front of the hotel which helped as we used them. There is a Gym right next door as you come into the car park, but it’s not part of the hotel, so check first yourself if your a gym guy/girl.
