Stonehouse Court Hotel - A Bespoke Hotel

We took my mum for afternoon tea today and it was not a great experience. I had to ask twice and find someone to replenish our tea as we were not checked on. The gentleman waiter tried to explain what the cakes were (which were a limited selection anyway) however he said I don’t really know what they are as I am new here! Lack of training is obviously apparent. When we then cut into our scone it was raw inside! When I asked for it to be replaced, it came back 10 minutes later overcooked! All in all an awful experience, not worth the money and we would not recommend or return.

Very beautiful room, spotless clean and comfortable. Shower was amazing! Very happy and would recommend this place to anyone.

didn't stay at this hotel just had a family afternoon tea for a birthday, unfortunately the afternoon tea wasn't worth the money, Very limited sandwiches. not much choice if you're a fussy eater. unfortunately no children's afternoon tea either. wouldn't recommend afternoon tea.

Stayed two nights as we had a wedding in the area. Lots of stairs down to our room which was hard with luggage. Booked a table for seven people for dinner and restaurant was empty not a good sign. Small plates we ordered were average and the main courses were overpriced and not very nice at all. We sent one back but because we a had all travelled three hours we’re hungry and would eat anything. We really should I sent it all back. Crab linguine was brown and looked more like chimeric. steaks undercooked cold and the chicken supreme watery with lack of taste. Side salad was a handful of what looked like watercress. Bearing in mind the high prices we were all expecting something nice. Waitress asked towards the end whether everything was ok and I told her no. And then no follow up was made. Later we headed to the bar where we saw another two customers complaining to the manager and they left not paying and leaving the food on the table. Been looking through your reviews and see this is a running problem which you reply to but never seem to sort out. Breakfast was better but not much!!! Cold when the full English arrived and a long wait. Had to keep asking for things. No sauce. No Bowls for the cereal and fruit. Eggs were hard. Luckily went to Sainsburys to stock up just in case we were left hungry again. Bed was the smallest double ever and did not have a very good sleep on both nights. All in all a very disappointing stay. Beautiful hotel but you need to sort out the food or don’t offer it. Decent Chef required.

Just a one night stay which was absolutely perfect , lovely building , grounds and excellent staff in all areas. The room was in the extension to the main building and was cosy comfortable and well appointed. Food was excellent both at dinner and breakfast .. all in all a real treat !!

We viewed Stonehouse Court Hotel after seeing an upcoming wedding fayre advertised. On meeting Gemma the wedding coordinator, we instantly felt as ease and she gave us a tour of the venue and the options . It was perfect and there availability that suited us just 10 weeks later. The package we chose covered everything we wanted and was easily amended where needed. We chose to have our ceremony in the Arundel Suite as we loved the character of the room. The grounds provided lots of opportunities for photography. The Caroline Suite was perfect for the wedding breakfast through to end of the night - a self contained building which was decorated to our specification, and had the option of outside space ( it wasn’t warm enough on our day but it’s such a pretty space) . Our day was incredible and we cannot thank Gemma and her team for making it so. Nothing was too much, food was delicious and we have had such great feedback from our guests of how the day felt so relaxed and how they all had a great day. Thank you again and I would definitely recommend getting married here . We will be visiting again for Sunday lunch soon.
