Yalbury Cottage

Exceptional hotel just outside Dorchester Mine was a solo stay for one Saturday night. It’s a lovely clean and comfortable room in a family run country hotel with friendly and generous hosts. I hadn’t booked a table in the restaurant and it was full to capacity but the chef made a delicious light meal for me which I ate in the lounge. Everything about my stay was exceptional.

Well, what a Gem the Yalbury Cottage was. My hubby and I went for a belated 50th Anniversary and an absolute fantastic night we both had A welcome face from Ariane who showed us to our room with views of the hillside and Alpacas. Then later down to the lounge for a drink, with home made apperitifs what a treat. Both saying if these were anything to go by we were in for a great evening. And OMG the next course was fabulous. Home made roll followed by our starters. Main course what amazing with tasters in-between each course. I couldn't do dessert but hubby took cheese which didn't disappoint. Drinks later in the cosy warm woodburing stove lounge made the night. Slept well in the comfy bed, then breakfast in the morning which again was fabulous. So all we will say is thank you so much to Jamie Ariane and the staff for a very memorable and fantastic time. We will be back, and please try it out for yourselves you want be disappointed Thanks again Ian/Sylv

Short but sweet stop Last minute booking for a race that I had planned. Arrived just before 10pm and left around 7am the next morning. The room was well presented and had everything you needed, good quality coffee, comfy pillows and some lovely welcome brownies. Would certainly go back when I visit Dorset again.

Lovely stay once again. One of these days I will make time for breakfast as the food looks amazing.

A very charming cottage. Very clean, lovely views from the window. Great service. An overall an excellent experience.
