Great hotel close to city centre and friendly staff, clean facilities

Honestly this place was the perfect hotel, staff were extremely friendly and helpful, the location was perfect and the hotel itself was a beautiful building. Fantastically clean and gorgeous bathroom and just as lovely bedroom I will definitely be staying here again and recommend to anyone the next time they stay in Stevenage to stay here!!

Really nice hotel. Stayed in the smallest room as I picked a single room, and was well impressed by the decor of the place. Great size room for one person, well thought decor, had a desk and a chair. Great en suite bathroom with basic toiletries, really friendly staff. Would definitely stay there again. Great location too! Thank you for your hospitality on my first time in Stevenage. Business trip!

Booked a one night stay. I will start with a positive, the staff did their best to make our stay a positive one, but that's about it. The negatives, we had booked a package online, with room, food and drinks included. The rooms advertised online in the photos were nothing like the room we were given, the room was very basic, bed was very small, the room was clean, but really needs updating. There should have been drinks in the room on arrival, but I had to go and ask for them and there was then some confusion about what we should have. There was also a towel missing, both issues were sorted. Food in the restaurant is OK, couldn't complain. The restaurant was very noisy. The room that night was really noisy, guests shouting and running about at 1.00am, then the local club shut and people shouting and screaming in the street until after 2.00am. Do not stay in a room which faces the main street at the front. The bed was also really uncomfortable. Breakfast, for some reason there were only 3 tables for couples to sit at, all other tables were for large groups to be seated. We did not want to sit at a table having breakfast with strangers, so asked to take our breakfast to another area of the hotel, they said no, eventually they gave in and allowed us to do so. I just didn't get the breakfast set up, why not have lots more small tables, for couples to have breakfast. The breakfast is plentiful, but average quality. Would I stay here again, probably not.

Welcoming and friendly hotel. Clean throughout the entire hotel and rooms are cosy and comfortable. The bar / restaurant attached is stylish, modern and has plenty of room to relax and enjoy an evening meal and drinks. Free, stable and reliable WiFi and the hotel itself is situated in a great location for shops and restaurants.

We hosted a suprise 70th birthday afternoon tea at the Cromwell Hotel on the weekend. We had 20 people in total and everyone was very complimentary about the food. The staff were very polite, helpful and attentive. Would definitely recommend this venue if you have similar events to host.

Have recently stayed at the Cromwell Hotel with family on Friday and Saturday , a really first class hotel, with superb staff and rooms, we would have great difficulty finding anything that we didn’t like, except, be aware there is a night club opposite that is open until at least 3 am on Friday and Saturdays, and rather boisterous ! We’re not sure if even asking for an off front room would have helped, such a shame, as everything else about the Cromwell was so lovely.

Hotel Cromwell is my second home away from home when visiting my best mates in Stevenage. The charming character of the Astley Suite and the Executive Rooms never fails to impress with each every visit as these are the most quiet rooms in my opinion. The beds are the comfiest and we always sleep like a baby. The ensuite bathrooms are well-stocked with toiletries and beautifully clean. Make sure that when you book these rooms I mentioned, please consider booking it with the breakfast option - these adds a perfect touch to the experience. Great friendly staff, characterful furnishings, great value for money.

“ I Don’t believe” another great night at the Cromwell Stevenage. What a wonderful night out with friends, we were entertained by The Jersey Boys, whilst enjoying a 3 course meal. The Cromwell has these evenings off to a T, The staff are well trained and very helpful throughout the evening, nothing is too much trouble, with the event manager keeping a close eye on the evening, making sure it was run nice and smoothly, there was plenty of staff who were all very polite and professional. The food was of very good quality, and delivered nice and hot at a lovely pace. I can’t wait for the next night out! Thank you, Victor (JS)
