We arrived via the Franschoek Tram, prepared to spend some cash. The front of the winery has a lovely patio with a very pretty view. It had numerous tables set for lunch with none of them occupied. We were greeted (?) or rather corralled like sheep onto the back patio at the back of the winery with no view and left waiting ages for our wine order to be taken. When we asked if we could sit at the front we were told “no the tables are all reserved”. We had a very uninspiring hour up the back passage and it took ages for anyone to become available to accept payment of our bill. Needless to say, as we left, we observed that 80% of the tables on the front patio remained unoccupied 🤷♀️. If you plan to go to this winery don’t go via the tram as you are treated like second class citizens. Very disappointing ☹️.
