There is an additional patio amongst the trees with the hot tub and fire pit - so cozy!Guest accessWith the exception of the garage, you will have access to the entire cabin and 2 acre property!The Area:-19 miles to Fairplay for groceries and a great selection of restaurants.-40 miles to Breckenridge for world class skiing. Skip all the I-70 traffic! -18 miles to Kenosha Pass - it is one of the best places to view the gorgeous changing aspen leaves in the fall!-13 miles to Tarryall Reservoir for fishing and hiking. -There are also some activities offered at local ranches such as horseback riding and ATV tours.Amenities:-Hot Tub - enjoy your evenings relaxing in the hot tub under the stars (Guests use the hot tub at their own risk. The hot tub is set privately and in the perfect spot to see a full-spread view of Pikes Peak. The lot is filled with large boulders and a forest of pine and aspen trees. You can cozy up next to the fireplace or enjoy a fresh cup of coffee on the porch looking out at the valleys and mountains. This newly renovated cabin will not disappoint.The cabin opens up to a large living room set with a new cozy couch, smart tv, and fireplace. Firewood is provided for your stay with us. There are games and blankets to help you come in and relax. The living room opens up to the kitchen which has granite countertops, stainless steel appliances, and everything you need to cook a meal. The kitchen directly opens up to the back porch set with Adirondack chairs and a grill, from the back porch you walk down the stairs to the hot tub. The hot tub is set out in the yard a bit to allow for better views of the mountains and the bright stars at night. Back inside the cabin, you will find the two bedrooms right next to each other, one has a king bed and the other a queen bed with a washer and dryer in the closet. The bathroom is right off down the hall from the bedrooms. The risk of wildfire for the area is too high. You will be asked to leave immediately if there is any fire activity.PetsWe will allow dogs who qualify. There are fans provided to help blow the cool air through the cabin.We are at 9,000 feet in elevation — altitude sickness can occur but you can do things to prevent it and alleviate symptoms including: Taking a day to rest when you arrive. Drink extra water and stay well hydrated (avoiding alcohol will help). (The tap water is from natural spring water and is delicious and safe to drink.) If you're not in the mood for TV, flip on some tunes on the record player or connect your own music via the Sonos speaker and dance the night away! If you are wanting to re-live your childhood, pull out the Super Nintendo Class Edition with over 100 games to choose from! While the cabin doesn’t have cable, the Smart TV has all the apps for you to login and stream your favorite apps! The electric fireplace adds to the ambiance, creating the perfect setting for an ideal evening in!Up the spiral staircase, the main bedroom features a queen-sized Casper bed for restful nights, while the second bedroom has a twin bed and a dedicated workspace with Starlink WiFi—perfect for remote work or streaming. The spiral staircase leading to the upper floor adds charm but may not suit small children or larger luggage.Whether you are celebrating a special occasion, exploring what Park and Summit counties have to offer, skiing at nearby world class resorts while avoiding I-70 traffic, or simply wanting an escape from the everyday hustle (and/or heat!) in our Hilltop A-Frame, we can't wait to host you!Guest access:Please keep in mind, for your safety, the GARAGE currently OFF-LIMITS to guest as we are working on improving the space for future usage!Important cabin information for a wonderful stay:Temperature: Our A-frame cabin doesn't have air conditioning. Daytime temps hover around 70-75F° in summer, dropping to 42-50°F at night which will cool things off. We do have portable fans (Dyson on main floor and Lesko in each bedroom). These are also heaters and n addition to the baseboard & wall heaters.Staircase: Embrace the unique charm of our spiral staircase leading to the upper rooms. Larger checked luggage might face challenges on these snug stairs. The staircase is not recommended for small children either.Bugs: We have our home professionally managed to control pests. However, on a rare occasion, we have insects make it past the barriers set by the pest control into the cabin. If you are extremely bothered by bugs, definitely reconsider booking any remote cabin in Colorado (but check out our other rentals!).Mud Season & Winter Driving: Early spring runoff may make our road muddy. Accessible year-round, our cabin recommends AWD/4WD with good tire tread in snowy months (Nov-Apr).Outdoor Fires: Due to wildfires, please refrain from using any ember-producing equipment.Water Source: Enjoy safe drinking water from our 283ft deep well. Conserve water to avoid potential well dryness.
