Maalaea village is a gem with its central location and its fantastic trade winds. They provide a cooling breeze that keeps the temperatures just right. Beautifully landscaped grounds with a pool and BBQ. Any stress you have will melt away. Slip into the pool and enjoy the ocean view while you relax in the Maui sun.Perfect central location to go explore the island! Or take a day to just relax to catch a glimps of green sea turtles rolling in the surf or bobbing up for air, even sunning themselves on the beach. In the winter months (Nov-April) you will have a front row seat to breaching whales as they come back to the islands to give birth, nurse, and play with their young!At the end of our cul-de-sac is Sugar Beach, 2-3 minute walk from the unit. People who have stayed here have come back over and over again. Maalaea is central to the island's many attractions. 20 minutes from the airport, 20 minutes to Lahaina, Kahului and the North Shore with it's many windsurfing locations. Shopping is about 20 minutes by car and restaurants are in 5 minutes walking distance. 5 minutes walk in one direction brings you to Maalea's yacht harbor with a small shopping mall and the well known Maui Ocean Center (Aquarium). 5 minutes walk the other direction will bring you to a 2 mile long sandy beach.Comments from previous guests:We have enjoyed our two week stay in your lovely suite immensely. This is a unique property on Maalaea Bay. Recently upgraded and renovated, it boasts wheelchair accessible features such as a large master bathroom, ADA compliant, including a large roll-in shower. Ground floor accessibility and very close accessible parking stalls make access ideal. No elevators to have to deal with. You can roll right up to the sandy beach!If you are not in need of accessible features, this unit is still the perfect getaway. It is in a quiet area of the Makani A Kai condominium with lots of privacy. Adjacent to a wildlife preserve area and 4 miles of uninterrupted sandy beach, there is no other condominium to the south for miles. It is also directly adjacent to the best swimming area in Maalaea and a world-renown surf spot.
