Salt Creek Farmhouse is a classic restored, 1920's farmhouse on 56 jacres with all the modern conveniences! Drive 10 minutes to downtown Nashville, hike our trail, grill out or relax on the wrap-around porch, or by the fire pit. Sleeps six people in; two bedrooms each with a queen sized bed and the full sized sleeper couch in the living room. Towels, wash cloths, sheets, pillows, blankets, coffee, ice etc. are all provided. Dogs/cats and extra $ 75 each (3 days), $ 85 each (4-7 days), $ 100 each (8 - 14 days), and must be approved by the management in advance. Pets must be kept off furniture and beds. We have fast, reliable Fiber-Optic WiFi and there's a 40" TCL smart TV and a DVD player in the living room. On the smart TV, you can stream Netflix, Disney, Hulu, Prime etc. via your account, or watch Youtube and other streaming services for free. The TCL smart TV also offers dozens of channels for free. There's also a smaller flat screen TV in one of the bedrooms for use with DVDs.There is a two person Jacuzzi in the master bath, there is not a hot tub. Mattresses have been updated in 2023.The property includes 56 acres, most of which is wooded. There are hiking trails starting less than 100 yards from the house that we maintain. There's a fishing hole along the trail, where guests have caught big Bass and huge Catfish, as well as; Blue Gill, Crappie, Gar and other fish. We have found; Morels, Lions Mane and Turkey Tail mushrooms in our woods. There's a porch swing on the wrap around porch, cooled by a ceiling fan and a horse-shoe pit in the back yard. Hunting is not allowed. Please keep pets off the furniture and beds and pick up after your dog, there’s a pooper-scooper and a shovel next to the fire pit for that. There is a House phone you can use to make calls anywhere in the US or Canada. A closet full of board games, puzzles, cards and other games is located on the 2nd floor. The deck off the main living space is like sitting in a tree house, there is a gas grill and table and chairs. The master bedroom has king bed and an en suite bathroom. The other main floor bedroom has a queen bed and en suite bath with shower. Upstairs is a bedroom with queen bed, jack and jill bath. 2nd bedroom has 2 twins beds. WoodHaven is close to Brown County State Park, less than a mile to eXplore Brown County with zip lines, Story Inn Restaurants, Nashville shopping and eateries. 30 minutes to Edinburgh outlet mall.DRIVEWAY:The house is perched on a hill in the woods. The first thing you will notice as you begin to turn onto the driveway is that it is steep and curves up the hill. If your vehicle has 4WD we recommend you utilize it. If you do not have 4WDwe recommend you shift into low gear(L) if your car has that option. This will provide the smoothest ascent up the drive. Please keep your speed up ALL THE WAY through the curve to provide sufficient momentum to smoothly ascend the drive.. The climb will be worth it. Once you reach the Cottage at the top of the hill there is plenty of space for parking.ATTENTION BICYCLERS:We are designate "Mountain Bike Friendly" by the Brown County Tourism Bureau.We have a walk out basement that makes it easy to bring your bikes inside. We are close to several biking areas (see links listed on this site).WINTER TRAVELERS PLEASE NOTE:Our property sits on a hill so it does have a steep driveway. The apartment has it's own private entrance, back yard, deck, fire pit, covered parking spaces and large parking area. The Hideaway's living room has a large smart HD TV with a Blu-ray DVD player (DVDs available), and free WiFi access. There's a massage chair, plus both ends of the couch are recliners. Also, there's a beautiful gas log fireplace so you don't have the hassle of loading firewood. A pull-down Murphy bed containing a comfy, queen size Tempur-Pedic mattress is hidden in the wall. (Our returning guests often fight over who gets to sleep on the Tempur-Pedic!) Plus there are folding doors so you can close this room off from the rest of the apartment, allowing it to serve as a second bedroom. The kitchen includes a stove, microwave, and refrigerator. And we provide a water purification system so you'll have plenty of fresh filtered water for drinking and for the coffee makers (coffee press, automatic drip coffee maker, and Keurig coffee maker.) There's also a large assortment of coffees, teas, and hot chocolate for your enjoyment. Plus we stock the Hideaway with breakfast snacks so you'll have something to go with your morning coffee. And if you're craving steaks or burgers, there's a gas grill just outside the back door (paper plates, bowls, cups, and cutlery provided). There's also a washer and dryer (detergent provided) if you need to do a load of laundry. The large bedroom has two queen pillow-top beds with luxurious linens, an assortment of pillows, and a 48" smart HD TV. And the bathroom offers soaps, shampoo, conditioner, and plenty of soft towels for each guest. Guests have the entire back yard to themselves, which includes a large deck, grill, table with chairs, and fire pit (wood provided). Lake Monroe and Bloomington (IU) are a short 30 minute drive to the west!
