The magnificent city of Granada and the world famous Alhambra Palace is only 1 hour 20 mins drive away. Malaga is 1 hour away - a wonderful city with much to offer. Seville, Cordoba, Ronda are all also within reach. There is much to do and explore also in the immediate vicinity of the finca too. Competa lies just 3 km away. It is a magnificent white mountain village (pueblo blanco) known as 'The Pearl of the Axarquia'. It clings to the mountain side just as the other smaller villages nearby. It is a 'real' Spanish village and has all your holiday requirements: including a good selection of shops (fresh fish every day), bars, restaurants, a health centre, and dentist. We recommend having a cafe con leche in the square and 'people watching'! Many people visit the Axarquia to walk, and we can highly recommend this as walkers ourselves. From all day treks high up in the mountains, to short rambles suitable for all ages and abilities - there is something for everyone when it comes to walking in the area. In the finca you will find plenty of walking books and printouts that you are welcome to use.
