There is an Italian language school at the end of our road. This 2 bedroom apartment is modern and comfortable with air conditioning in both bedrooms, and has been a holiday home for visitors since 2012. It's suitable for only 4 adults/children and there is also a child's cot and high chair. The kitchen opens out onto a large private roof terrace, with covered coperta and lighting, overlooking fields for the obligatory alfresco dining. There is also direct access to a further large private sun roof terrace (i.e. for this apartment only) with sun loungers and day round sunshine and great views at sunset. An hour’s drive from Brindisi airport (served by Ryanair, EasyJet and BA in the summer) and two hours drive from Bari airport, there is also a private garage in the gated apartment complex and a supermarket within a couple of minute’s walk. Pretty, cobbled and car-free lanes wind through the compact city and are packed with fantastic restaurants and bars. The town also has beautiful beaches and the crystal clear waters of the Adriatic Sea.Salento: Otranto is also a perfect base to discover and explore the local region of Salento. Highlights include the beautiful coastal road south of Otranto - with views and grottos, it is often likened to the Amalfi coast - and the long sandy beaches north of the town. The gorgeous baroque city of Lecce (the ‘Florence of the South’) is 30 minutes drive away, as is the fishing port of Gallipoli and the beaches and resorts of the west of the peninsula on the Ionian Sea.
