Welcoming host and tasty homemade breakfast. Stanhope is an interesting location right on a lovely lake. Victorian style house nice, room small (no closet), bathroom in need of updating, TV offered only minimal streaming and mostly didn't connect to devices. Could use a refresh.

My wife and I are long term “road warriors” for our consulting business and spend countless nights in hotels. The sponsoring organization in Stanhope booked us at The Whistling Swan. What a treat !! This inn was beautifully furnished (swan tchotchies were everywhere !!😀) with antique furniture and artwork. The hosts were warm and welcoming and served a hearty, flavorful breakfast. A glass of wine on the veranda was a perfect end to a busy day.

In many ways I would like to keep this spot a secret, but that would be a disservice to our incredible host, Audry. My fiance and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would highly recommend the Whistling Swan to anyone looking for a nice weekend getaway that doesn't break the bank. Our room was very comfortable and we enjoyed two delicious breakfasts. Audry is a terrific chef and a very gracious innkeeper. Come hungry, leave happy - that's the Whistling Swan for ya!

We had a wonderful two-night stay at the Whistling Swan Inn in Stanhope, NJ! The atmosphere is charming, peaceful, and incredibly comfortable. Everything was spotless and beautifully maintained. We enjoyed a great breakfast each morning, made even better by Audrey’s warm, thoughtful conversation. She’s friendly, attentive, and clearly passionate about making your stay special. There were even fresh-baked cookies every day — who does that anymore? Even though we were far from home, we truly felt like we were right at home. Amazing place!!

I have stayed at the Whistling Swan several times in the past, and it is always a really nice experience. Audry, the owner, is lovely, and the house is beautifully decorated. I found the experience, as always, to be pleasant and relaxing.

Once again we had a great stay at the Whistling Swan Inn. Audrey is the most gracious host and will go out of her way to make sure you're comfy. Her breakfast creations always surprise us. The inn is located near a number of top notch restaurants and midtown New York is just a little over an hour away.

Wonderful overnight stay at the Whistling Swan Inn. Inn is very charming with beautiful and intricate woodwork, decorative fireplaces and other detailed elements both inside and out. Stayed in Morris Canal Room. Very clean and cozy. Comfortable bed. Very relaxing and tranquil stay. Audry is a perfect hostess, creating a warm, welcoming and enjoyable atmosphere for her guests. Breakfast was outstanding. Eggs, bacon, homemade sourdough bread, banana bread and yogurt with granola and berries and phenomenal chocolate chip pancakes. Common areas are very cozy. There is tea, and coffee available as well as homemade cookies to enjoy throughout the day. The location is wonderful. Short ride to excellent restaurants, cafes, boutique shops, and antique stores. We look forward to our next visit.

Excellent Inn in every way. Audrey was super friendly and accommodating. The breakfast was amazing. The Inn itself is adorable, clean and relaxing. We felt like we were home. We will definitely go back. Great place for couples, singles and families. Thank you!
