Phaedra Hotel

Von der ersten Minute hat man sich wohl gefühlt. Es war wie eine gute Familie.

Simply the best! You feel safe, secure, relaxed, welcomed, and taken care of. Everyone in the staff is friendly and greets you wholeheartedly. Housekeeping is excellent, pool bar is cosy and inviting leading to conversations with both staff and guests, the beach is superior to Agia Marina and Platanias, and the manager Nikos treats everyone as a part of his Phaedra family. All this makes it feel like a home away from home. Rooms and standard is excellent. You don't hear the neighbors taking a shower or breaking wind like in many other hotels. The pool and pool area is top-notch. Beach in front of the hotel is as mentioned superior to other beaches in the area. Parking close to the hotel on the street is almost never an issue. I can't speak highly enough about Phaedra and the people making it what it is. We will for sure come back next time in Crete and hopefully that is in a year!

Hotel Phaedra in Kato Stalos, Crete is a true gem. The hotel is way better than most in the area. You will not regret staying here. The rooms are really nice and clean with free a/c and the pool area by the beach is absolutely amazing. Free sunbeds and free beach towels is something you don’t get in all other hotels. The owner Nicos is the friendliest an nicest guy you will find and he will make sure everything is perfect. Lady Georgia at the bar is the soul of the hotel and she makes delicious meals for breakfast and lunch. Always nice to talk to both Nikos and Georgia. I have now stayed in Phaedra four times and coming back again next year. Definately 10/10 ⭐️

Eine wunderschöne, saubere und ruhige Hotelanlage. Direkte Stradlage mit Blick auf das Meer. Privater Strandabschnitt mit hauseigenen Liegen. Auch am Pool genug Liegen. Keine furchtbaren Handtuch-Liegen-Reservierungen. Zu jeder Zeit waren freie Liegen vorhanden. Der Chef, das Personal unglaublich nett, hilfsbereit und hat immer einen Tip parat. Mietwagen durch den Chef reserviert, kam pünktlich und war einwandfrei. Die Rückgabe übernahm der Chef. Transfer vom Flughafen durch das Hotel organisiert (38 Euro - absolut ok mit Top-Fahrer). Handtücher für die Liegen gab es bei Bedarf vom Hotel. Die Zimmer absolut sauber mit bequemen Betten, kleiner Küchenzeile, die alles hat, was man benötigt (Wasserkocher, Kaffeefiltermaschine, Toaster, Kühlschrank mit Eisfach), selbstregulierbarer Kimaanlage. An der kleinen Poolbar konnte man sich kleine Snacks und Getränke für normale Preise holen. Alle sehr nett dort. Die Anlage ist so sauber (selbst der Chef räumt mit auf und achtet auf Sauberkeit). Entfernung nach Chania mit dem normalen Stadtbus ca. 10-15 Minuten für 2 Euro fährt regelmäßig alle 30 Minuten. Kleine Supermärkte in unmittelbarer Umgebung, viele Restaurants mit Touristik-Essen. Bevorzugt jemand einheimisches Essen, fragt den Chef (oder Rezeption), der hat tolle Restaurant-Tips. Wir haben nur Übernachtung gebucht und es hat uns so mega gut gefallen, dass wir es jederzeit wieder buchen würden und es ausnahmslos empfehlen können.

I booked this hotel on the strength of its reviews and I am so pleased that I did. The Phaedra could give many 5* hotels a lesson in customer service, they really do go out of their way to deliver. We had 2 studios on the ground floor overlooking the pool. The studios and all of the communal areas were spotless, beds changed every other day, ditto towels. The accommodation was really well kept and maintained. More than 50% of the people we met there were returners, we are already talking about which week we will be back next year. The pool is glorious, no chlorine and never busy. There is a box of inflatables for the kids to use which is a great idea. From the pool you walk directly onto a sandy, clean beach with free sunbeds and shades and there are beds and shades round the pool if you don't want to sit on the beach. Georgiana who runs the pool cafe/bar looked after us well, you can have breakfast/lunch and snacks, any drinks and lovely iced coffee here at a reasonable price. There are supermarkets and tavernas nearby so you really don't have to venture far if you don't want to. A special mention to Nikos. All of the restaurant recommendations were spot on, our favorite was Kosmas. Thank you Nikos and Georgiana for a fabulous holiday, we will see you next year.
