Alai, Crete, a Tribute Portfolio Resort

Just back from an 11 night stay at Alai Crete and we had a fantastic time. We got a free upgrade to sea view, which was really lovely. The hotel had just been refurbished and it is beautiful. It was very quiet during our stay in Crete so the hotel wasn't busy at all therefore it was easy to always get a sunlounger by the pool or beach. The staff were very friendly and always ready to help. Breakfast was good, decent choice and lots of coffee and juice options available. The only negatives we had was that the sink was in our room and not the bathroom which was strange. The walk in shower also overflowed a couple of times. The poolside bar/restaurant was also quite expensive and therefore empty during the day and evening. I think if they did a 'happy hour' it would definitely get more guests to purchase a drink, especially since the bars and restaurants in Stalis are a lot cheaper. Overall, we had an amazing holiday at Alai Crete and would recommend it.

Stayed May 2025, Excellent service the whole week we were there. When we arrived we were made to feel welcome, offered a water or juice, bags taken to our room and was upgraded to a superior room with an in-land view, the room was very modern and clean with the best shower I have ever had in a hotel! Unfortunately the view wasn’t the greatest, we overlooked the strip and staff block. I will stay again but will make sure I book a sea view room. The balcony’s were also very small compared to other rooms. All in all this did not spoil our holiday and I cannot thank all of the staff and the manager enough for their hard work, they were very professional at all times and always welcoming, the maid who serviced our room was excellent she always spoke to us and made sure we had what we needed, during our stay we had three calls from reception to check if everything was ok with our room which was a nice touch! Breakfast was always lovely, they serve you your tea/coffee and eggs, the rest is help yourself, it was quiet when we first arrived but got busier when we left, we always found a sun-bed and the staff will get your drinks for you if you don’t want to leave your sun-beds. We will definitely be back as we loved Crete, we are hoping to come back the end of this year - Thank you everyone for a lovely stay, you made our week!

Kamers netjes en schoon, wel een kleine badkamer. Lekker eenvoudig maar smakelijk eten en voldoende keuze. Bijzonder aardig personeel. Hotel ligt aan het strand maar de bedjes moet je betalen. Direct winkeltjes in de omgeving en in de snackbar naast het hotel kun je zelfs bitterballen kopen. Ga zeker nog eens terug naar dit hotel.

Lovely clean and friendly family run hotel in the middle of Stalis Crete. Staff were friendly and helpful and the room and pool area was clean fresh and comfortable. Breakfasts were great and I’d recommend to anyone interested in holidaying in Stalis. The one caveat I’d put on it is that we went at the end of the season when the hotel was not full and had one whole block of about say 20 rooms unoccupied and the main block was not full which gave us an upgrade to a sea view room. This meant breakfasts and sun loungers etc were not busy and the whole experience was very relaxing and pleasant. When full I would imagine a different outlook and some of the non seaview rooms overlook other hotels and the main road which would be busy and noisy in peak periods. Also the hotel was only opened following refurbishment in July 2024 so you’d expect it to be clean and spotless. If you put a critical eye over it from a builders perspective (which I did) some of the finishing is suspect and will age and look untidy quite quickly but for us at that time it was perfect.

Suite à un séjour magnifique dans cet hôtel, Je ne peu que en faire des éloges. Le seul point important est de louer un véhicule à l’hôtel ou à proximité pour visiter l'ile dont les habitants sont très accueillants. Pour l'hôtel, la direction, le staff, les serveurs, les cuisiniers, les barmans, l'animateur, sont hyper sympas et parle un peu le français. Hôtel parfait lors de notre séjour pour se reposer car peu d'animation durant cette période de début de saison. Pour le All Inclusive, rien à redire. Bref, nous avons été séduit par le ZEPHYROS et y retournerons.

Op advies van het reisbureau hier geboekt. En totaal geen spijt van deze keuze. Wij kregen een kamer in het pand naast het hoofdgebouw. Een hotel wat ook is aangekocht. Het hotel ligt pal aan het strand, van zo'n 20 meter breed. Voor het pand is er een terras, waar je als all inclusive gast ook een keer kan eten. Wij hadden een redelijk kleine kamer, maar zeer schoon en vrij nieuw. Vanaf het balkon zicht op zee en op de (gezellige) straat aan de voorzijde. Op de kamer staat een koelkast en is het mogelijk om een kopje koffie te zetten. De eerste dag zaten we aan het “all-in” zwembad achter het hoofdgebouw. Totdat we de rust van het naastgelegen zwembad ontdekten. Hier kost een set bedjes €10 per dag. Ook mag je er geen consumptie van de andere kant meenemen naar dit zwembad. ( Blijft natuurlijk de mogelijkheid om wat te nuttigen aan de andere kant) Maar dat vonden we geen probleem. De service hier is namelijk geweldig! Bij een drankje krijg je ook een schaaltje chips. Spontaan kwamen ze ons een schaaltje fruit brengen en later een schaaltje met komkommer/wortel. En alles met een lach en vriendelijk woordje. Echt geweldig! Het voelde voor ons zeer luxe. Het eten in de eetzaal is meer dan prima. Afwisselend en genoeg keuze. En wat er was, was heerlijk. Ook daar is het personeel zeer vriendelijk naar de gasten. Voor het hotel is een rustig straatje met barretjes, restaurants en allerlei andere winkels. Heerlijk om s'avonds even te slenteren. Voor ons een hotel om zeker weer eens terug te komen!
