Crazy Bear Stadhampton

We went to the restaurant for Sunday lunch, what a disappointment this was our 10th visit, our first since the establishment has changed hands. The food quality is lower than before the menu is very limited, you do not get the menu on the web site unless you pay an additional £12.00 per person, what you receive in not that advertised such as carrots a simple item but not served this was typical across all courses. We ask why the restaurant was so quiet and were told that the previous owner sold the vouchers too cheaply and they did not want that type of clientele any more as they were now a fine dining restaurant. Which made us feel under valued as we had a voucher. As normal there is a service charge advertised at 13.5% which is now 15% with no explanation. If you have visited the restaurant before be prepared to be disappointed and under whelmed the lack of atmosphere and customers. Unless there is change in approach and customer engagement this will be another casualty which would be a shame as it feels a fairly unique market gap.

I stayed for a few days in March for business and regularly choose The Crazy Bear to stay at. Great night sleep, fabulous food and amazing staff. I was lucky enough to have a bit of sunshine so sitting in the outside area was just stunning and in the evening it's all lit up with fairy lights. It has a great area for weddings and parties so I think I may have my next big birthday there.
