Seahorse Beach Bungalows

We were scammed, the room we received was not what we rented. We were in a room as big as a closet with a restroom that you couldn’t shower it was so small. We rented the superior room with 2 beds because it was 4 people in our group, so they ended up leaving to a different place which was horrible late at night. Dirty room tons of mosquitoes, no hot water. I will never stay there again.

The room was very beautiful and updated. Only a block away from a beautiful beach. However, be worn that the check-in process is completely remote and you will receive an email with a whole bunch of charges that don’t reflect on the ******* website. For example, they charge a resort fee of $25 and this is not a resort and they only give you two towels to shower with so if you’re going to the beach, you will not have towels. We weigh it almost 4 hours to check in in the hot Florida sun. They do give you a phone number to contact and nobody will answer and everybody that I talk to you that was staying there had the same issue. Thankfully, these beautiful and wonderful humans offered me some water. Eventually, I went into my car to get relief from the air conditioning and went to get a bite to eat. I would’ve paid the extra $25 or $50 to check in early but nobody got back to me. There is one person on site that was cleaning the room who is in communication with the owners, but they refused to contact me. Not a nice way to start a vacation. This facility should not advertise as a resort and should be upfront with fees is very disrespectful.

Management and knowledge of customer concerns totally missing. Rented the room for 3 people, they set up for 2. Had to call and text for help. We were told to ask the guy we found on the grounds the next morning. He had to take a picture of our list of needs and have it translated. We needed a towel, mug, dish, etc. No toiletries supplied. Then he brought 6 little bottles of shampoo and no conditioner. Our beach chairs were yoga mats or the chairs on the porch. We arrived at night and couldn’t turn on lights until someone texted us back and told us the light switch was behind refrigerator. (Behind it). When making the reservation it took 3 calls to find out the coffee maker was a Kurig. The floor/carpet was filthy and there were no brooms or cleaning products. The pictures glorify the look of the hotel and the German Motel a block away had scary low life young men hanging out all the time. AND THEY CHARGED US TWICE AND SAID EVERYTHING IS CORRECT ON OUR SIDE. The said to contact the booking agent. (The one that already paid them). It took 1 month to straighten out only because of my persistence. They just don’t care to learn customer service

My wife and I are a senior couple who live in the northeast and take one vacation a year in February to escape the the winter cold that ravages our arthritis. We love the warmth of Florida's sunshine and were so looking forward to spending several hours a day on a lonely stretch of beach listening to nothing louder than the cry of a seagull. Unfortunately, the weather and Seahorse bungalows would come up short. Nobody's fault, but we had several cloudy, cool and windy days that kept us wrapped up in towels and sweatshirts or sitting on the porch at the bungalow. The inside of the bungalow was pretty much as pictured in the ads, but you've heard of the saying “lipstick on a pig”. It fits this place. We had an extended stay so no daily cleaning. The first day we had to spend going into town and picking up cleaning supplies to wash windows and floors. The next day my wife tried to fill the dish detergent dispenser only to have the liquid spill out into the cabinet below. That's when she discovered our uninvited guest-mister roach. It took all of my powers of persuasion to convince her to come back inside and not cancel our stay. It's not easy to find a new location at the height of high season in Florida. Our disappointments continued when we tried to use some of the other amenities like our front porch, “garden” furniture and grill. The porches are all rotted and peeling, the bistro tables are covered with rust, the plastic Adirondack chairs are split and cracked, the netting on the hammock was torn as be be unusable, the grill had to be thoroughly cleaned before it could be used. Last, but not least, piles of construction debris are all around the property along with a dumpster and two huge storage trailers. Our last hope to have positive memories of our February 2025 vacation was that good customer service would make up for the short comings. I had several conversations with General Manager, Patricia Attridge before our arrival and she was polite and accomodating. She assured me that despite some minor renovations, I would not hear the noise nor notice the construction in any other way. She said she would be there from 8 to 4 everyday to insure our needs were met. You guessed it. Never saw her or anyone else other than the housekeeping person. Unless you have really low standards, I would avoid Seahorse Bungalows at any price. Check out the pictures-they don't lie!
