We booked a 2 night stay, checking in on Feb 13th and checking out Feb 15th. As we entered the lobby we noticed someone sitting at a table near the front desk. This lady appeared to be annoyed we walked in. She was using a laptop and on her cell phone in the middle of a conversation. After she paused her conversation she checked us in. When we walked into our room we were immediately met with a foul odor and apon a quick inspection we found food crums on the floor. It appeared that this room had not been cleaned. We walked back out to the lobby and again interrupted her personal call. In a rude and aggressive manner she offered to move us to another room. We decided to give it a try. The second room, although not as smelly, it was even worse in cleanliness. With quick inspection we wound crums on the floor, hair on the sheets, stab marks in the top blanket, and worst of all, with the door closed and locked you can visually see in and out of the room though the space between the door and the door frame. We asked for a refund and the front desk lady called her manager and they both agreed we could not get a refund. We contacted Wyndham and he suggested we check out and to make sure the front desk checks us out on the computer. She refused to do so saying she can't check us out until the charge goes through. We had her hand write that we checked out of our receipt. And left. We submitted our statement and photos to the Wyndham representative. We then booked a 2 night stay at the comfort in in deadwood. That hotel ended up being cheaper and we had great service there, they also had a fun arcade, bar, restaurant, and complimentary breakfast was good. *update I received a voice-mail "Yes Jaren this is Lori calling from the spearfish(?) Travel Lodge. I need you to return my call please. You can use this number 605-645-9004. Thank you." So I called her back. She had no interest in me explaining what happened. She seemed to be reading questions from a script. She would only let me answer with yes or no. She stated that I would receive the cost of 1 night back on my card. As of February 20th I have not received any refund.
