The Claremont

Never answer there phones never answer there emails not helpful at all choose another hotel we cancelled our booking. TRIED ABOUT TWENTY TIMES TO CONTACT THEM BUT THEY REFUSED TO ANSWER WANTED TO EXTEND OUR STAY for another three days but could not get them to respond.

A very comfortable guest house. Very warm welcome and comfortable bed. 10 minutes walk from Southampton Central railway station. Ciry centre 15 minute walk and guest house situated in a quiet street. Bed very comfortable. Cruise port 10 minutes by taxi. I thoroughly recommend The Claremont and I will be returning.

Amazing location - Tucked in a residential neighborhood yet centrally located. Less than 5 min walk from train station, 12 min from coach/bus station, close to citysea museum which serves as a city landmark, close to 2 major shopping malls, high street, historic town, the port. Close to many restaurants. Perfect for solo travelers as well as families. Budget friendly with clean rooms - very good price, clean and efficient rooms. Many rooms may not have ensuite toilet/shower, but they all have a sink in the room. It’s like living in an English house. Each room has hot water kettle, tea, coffee. The downstairs has free tea and coffee with dining tables. I did not have breakfast there. The only part wasn’t great was that my room smelled a bit smoky even though it’s supposed to be non-smoking room.

Really wasn’t great, we only needed one night. A bit pricey for the state of the place honestly. It was kind of local to where we needed to be which was helpful but we couldn’t wait to be out of there in the morning.

Soggiorno di una notte in trasito a Sotuthampton, posizione molto comoda data la vicinanza sia alla stazione che al porto. Camera minimal ma più che sufficiente per due persone, bagno in camera ovviamente ad uso esclusivo. La signora che ci ha accolto è stata molto (troppo) sbrigativa, se avessi avuto qualche informazione da chiedere non avrei potuto perchè una volta lasciateci le chiavi è scomparsa, non ci ha chiesto documenti .. volatilizzata ! Colazione compresa nel prezzo della camera servita in una stanza adibita a questa funzione, scelta particolaremente varia e cibi caldi fatti al momento (tipica colazione inglese con uova, pancetta, fagioli e via dicendo) Nel complesso esperienza positiva.

We booked this guest house via *********** and got the room at a good price as we use accommodation at a lower price point. Booking was straightforward and it was clear what was being offered. Communication was good and instructions for later check in were provided for us, with key arrangements all working out well. On arrival the room was clean, all services offered were present and everything worked in the shared toilet and shower room. We had a good night's sleep with no disturbance from others. The surrounding area looked a bit untidy but again we had no trouble walking around, even late at night. There were plenty of restaurants within walking distance and it's proximity to Southampton Central station was very useful for us, travelling by train and on foot. Back at the guest house, check out was easy and breakfast was provided with a great choice of stuff which represented excellent value given the low cost of the room. Overall this guest house is one of the best we have stayed in for its price bracket. We would definitely stay again in the future if we have cause to be in Southampton.
