Spotlessly clean, great information provided, definitely stay again

Satisfactory for a business trip away. The stay was satisfactory for a local business trip for a night which has a bedroom and separate shower and toilet facilities. There was no toilet paper and the wash basin was in the room and not near the toilet. It was very easy to access the property and knowing that a phone call could be made to the owners if i needed anything.

Amazing , host accommodating, lovely clean well decorated cozy bedroom. Amazing price . Will definitely recommend to friends and family . Will stay again if I’m in the area . Self check in and out , easy instructions to follow . Situated close to city centre . Train station. Quick drive to port for cruising

A lovely basic guest house it was clean & tidy with a comfortable bed and clean bedding with everything else you would need available situated in quiet area as stated with a very easy self check in and check out procedure offering excellent value for money

The staff (whom I communicated with via the messaging service of ******* and the hotel) where very helpful and prompt at replying to me re. arrival time and accessing the key, which was easily done by using a code. There were three fairly narrow parking spaces in the driveway of the property. Unfortunately, there was a huge van parked in the middle, and so I could only park half of my vehicle into a space. The room was quite small, but cosy and a little stuffy. I would have preferred the bathroom to be by the main room, but it was in fact across the hallway instead and I had to use a key to enter it. It was very small with a toilet and shower. No sink. The shower water took about 4 minutes to become hot. Sadly, at the front of the property, the next door property residents were very noisy with their social gathering (or rather, anti-social). Their TV was very loud also. Not very considerate to other residents. They were still chatting loudly at 2am. I had to use earplugs. Otherwise, it was à comfortable room. At one end of the road, (with your back to the property, turn left) there was a pub and a few fast food places, including a good grilled chicken takeaway) about 10 minutes walk away.

I wrote a review when we stayed for 4 nights in August 2022. I am making the effort to write another, since my original review is no longer to be found. I do not understand why the good reviews remain and the bad reviews disappear. Is Rivendell getting friends to give good reviews and are not actual guests. The rooms are very tiny. The bed horribly uncomfortable and no place to sit in the room other than on the bed. The pictures of the rooms are deceiving. Note when booking a room, there are not pictures assigned to that booking. There was no breakfast and was advised too late to change reservations. There was no one around to help with the luggage on the steep narrow stairs, as originally said there would be. No light bulbs at the side table lamps. Instant coffee and tea on a wobbly TV tray. Bathroom tiny, toiletries was one liquid soap, for hands, face, shower and hair. We have stated in allot of places, would not go back to this one. Also, I choose the option to pay at property. They charged my credit card days before my arrival, not on my arrival. Probably because they knew no one would be there for our arrival, as promised. The clean room had black around the bottom of the shower and the windows. During the hot spell in England at the time. Just advising I am rewriting this review again, since my original somehow was removed. I wonder if this one will stay up. I am a valid guest, I have the confirmation # and the charge on my credit card to prove it.
