The Grapes Pub

The stairs are steep so be careful if carrying heavy luggage, staff offered to help.

This is a quaint and charming set of rooms about the Grapes pub. It is not for the faint of heart or the weak of knees. One must climb two steep sets of stairs so make sure your luggage is is light. The check in is at the bar by the owner who is a really nice guy. He gives instruction on how to enter and return with the key and his assistant showed us the room. He did offer to help carry our luggage up the stairs. The shower was a bit iffy. There is a red switch on the wall to turn it on but I was hesitant to do so for fear of setting off a fire alarm. I would recommend putting a note about it for explanation. The bed is very comfy and there are a few eateries and other pubs on the block. Drop the key in the box on the way out and off you go! Great place. I'd go back again without a doubt.

Noisy but good The rooms are directly above a busy bar and party area (with several other bara and restaurants in the same area. No double glazed windows. You cannot sleep until 2am. The room itself is however good and it is only a few minutes’ walk to the port for a cruise.
