La Quinta Inn & Suites South Padre Island

We stayed here a week during the Sandcastle competition. We had the most perfect room, we had ocean view and it was as stunning. This place was next to Clayton’s is why we stayed here so we could watch the competition and have easy access to the beach bars and restaurants.Room was clean and comfortable and we enjoyed the little gift shop they have, prices were really reasonable, also a big plus was their included breakfast, we had fresh made omelets every morning. We would definitely stay here again.

Excellent location to the beach and restaurants. Staff extremely nice, courteous and professional. The chair/sofa could have been a little more comfortable and I wish the microwave was up on the counter, not in the cabinet low down. But, overall this hotel had everything I wanted and we had a very relaxing 42nd wedding anniversary trip. I would definitely stay there again!

I was in town for a Conference and was pleasantly surprised by the cleanliness of the hotel grounds, parking area and pool area. The staff was extremely friendly and helpful even during a late evening check-in. The room was clean with a small balcony with a eautiful partial ocean view. The room has a coffe maker, microwave and safe. The hotel has a full, FREE, hot-breakfast with made to order omeletes and assorted juices, fruit and standard breakfast fare. The pool is smallish but very clean with plenty of available seating. Barrys Bistro is attached to the pool and offers very reasonable and tasty lunch and dinner options (think $8.00 burger and fries) and happy hour on drinks between 3-6 p.m. You cannot take your own alcohol onto the large outdoor Barrys deck which overlooks the beach but you can on the beach (no glass alowed). Super soft sand, clean beaches with warm waters. Very nice and relaxing. The largest outdoor bar in Texas is right next door and according to staff, it does get loud on weekends but we were there during the week and had no issues. The Convention Center is literally across the street and walkable but because of the heat and humidity it was better to drive. Very nice hotel, great food, reasonable prices and great staff. Thank you to Daniel the manager, we will be back.

I am beyond frustrated. We check in at 430pm. The person that checked me in had no people skills. It was as iffhe had a job he hated. I thought "wow this guy is having a bad day". We got to our room and it was hot. The AC was turned to 60 degrees thinking that they didnt turn it down in advance. After being at the beach for five hours we returned to a hot room. I called the front desk and asked foto be transferred to a different room. Lets just say the maintenance guys showed up and couldn't they couldn't speak English. Then I was treated very poorly by the front desk guy. I would say book somewhere else. This establishment doesn't care about their paying guests. Stay somewhere where you are treated with respect.

Me encantó el hotel a pie de playa, la alberca no tan grande pero bien, las noches en el bar de Barry con música en vivo excelente, el desayuno incluido muy bueno. Lo único que no me gustó fue que una de las camas no estaba cómoda, se sumía una parte...todo lo demás del cuarto muy cómodo.

Great place to celebrate our anniversary. Nice, big room with a ceiling fan — yes, ceiling fan! Most friendly, courteous, and helpful staff one could want. The hotel is on the beach, so no long hauls or walks back. The room came with the best hotel breakfast I’ve had, with fresh food, real eggs, a variety of choices, and best of all: a made-to-order omelette station. The resort is located next to Clayton’s. We were able to watch their concert and fireworks from the back deck of the resort. Finally, Barry’s Bistro has very good food and drinks with the best prices on the beach! We love the food on SPI, but Barry’s is so good we ate there twice and enjoyed their drinks every evening on the pool deck. General Manager Robert Rivera can be proud! Great job. See you next visit.
