This is a great place to stay. Our lodge was clean and comfortable with fantastic views from our private veranda. The food in the restaurant was exceptional with equally exceptional staff. Plettenburg Bay is a great place to visit with masses of things to do and see.

This was my third visit over 5 years to this lodge, and I’ll be returning for a fourth in the future… No where else in the world makes me feel more welcome, with the most fantastic staff, a relaxed but professional atmosphere, and the most beautiful building in the most stunning setting. If you’re reading this review because you’re wondering if you should stay here, do.

Absolutely stunning and hope to return. Setting is beautiful and so relaxing. Staff could not do enough to help and we decided to eat here both nights as so lovely. If you are in the area, highly recommend. The staff even came round early evening with chocolates to our room and a beautiful story book of short traditional African stories - really went the extra mile.

Alles aan dit verblijf was geweldig. Het uitzicht midden in de natuur, het personeel (super vriendelijk), het eten (alles was lekker). Het was een hele leuke verrassing dat sochtends onze auto was schoongemaakt. Deze was extreem vies geworden na off Road rijden. Het zwembad was fijn groot met geweldig uitzicht. Kortom ik kan niks slechts bedenken. Het hotel is super aldus mijn dochter van 7 (heel kind vriendelijk met melk en een koekje op de kamer voor het slapengaan).

A beautiful place to stay with outstanding service
We stayed at Hogs Hollow for two nights whilst driving the garden route and we loved our stay.
Our room - no 17 (or rather suite) was stunning. Breathtaking views from our private veranda and a spacious room with living area and large bed, and not to mention a wood burner that was freshly laid each day kept those chilly nights away.
But most of all the exceptional service was what made our stay. All the staff were very friendly and went above and beyond! Nothing was too much trouble, and when asking what we were up to for the day or for dinner flagged things like tide times to be aware of or whether somewhere was closed. We were also delighted by the daily car clean.
The weather wasn’t kind enough for us to use the pool but the pool deck was great and we used the sauna.
Breakfast was also delicious. A large continental selection with homemade goods accompanied by a hot dish of our choosing.

This was a return visit after six years and Hog Hollow was just as good. The staff are extremely pleasant, friendly and efficient. The location is fabulous , although we were so comfortable there we only went out once - to Birds of Eden - well worth a visit. The swimming pool is lovely with a beautiful shaded area with cushions and a magnificent view. The food was amazing - beautifully cooked and presented - and enough choice even though it didn’t change for the three nights we were there. We loved having pre dinner drinks on the terrace by the fire. The couples massage with Josephine and Sylvia was lovely too. I hope we’ll be back before another six years pass!

Wow, what a special place this is. Absolutely stunning scenery, lovely food, especially the breakfast which was beautifully presented and wonderful friendly staff. We only stayed 2 nights but didn't want to leave this little oasis. Our lodge was gorgeous and not overlooked and it was so peaceful sitting on the balcony and just enjoying nature. After our evening meal it was so cosy and romantic sitting round the fire on the boma having a drink. Had a lovely massage from Josephine too. A big thank you to Fidelia and all the staff for making our stay so enjoyable.

Excellent hotel, the food was excellent. The beef fell of your folk it was so tender. The rooms are very nice with a hot water bottle put at the end of your bed each night. Make sure you have a massage from Josephine, the best massage ever. There’s a room over looking the valley
