Grand Mayan

The Joy crew is incredible! Hector with crocs and Adriadna with pool and watercolor made my children’s day. Great alternative when you need a break from the sun. Very helpful and knowledgeable with good English. Excellent service! First time and will be back!

Another great return to Vidanta. We went to another 5* more $$ resort our second week and still prefer the grand Mayan. Love the friendly and attentive staff (you don’t know how good it is until you experience lacking service and more costly restaurants). Very consistently excellent quality food at all restaurants and very well developed Salum area (Vs less so at Nuevo Vallarta vidanta). Love the cabanas (book same day at 730am) and shade it provides, way fewer mosquitos than Nuevo Vallarta site, joy squad and kids activities are plentiful and choice of 3+ pools is amazing here. Easy to access Jade store for beer (cheapest here), eat sweet or savoury crepes and specialty coffee or gelato, and ability to get groceries and cook some of your own meals/ store leftovers in fridge and microwave etc in humongous 1BR suite are all major pluses you can’t easily find elsewhere. Bring own ground coffee and flat bottoms filters. They also sell coffee at the store and though people say things are expensive, it’s way cheaper here than say, airport prices or going off resort for convenience. Bring own body wash. They supply everything else (shampoo; soap; dish soap) and people don’t understand that the body oils/salts are free gift to use for the tub- if you want more, it costs money cuz it’s from the spa. You’re paying for convenience, excellent service (tips included here Vs Nuevo Vallarta not; though tips in pesos are always appreciated and you can add to your bills). Angel at gong and Alain at quinto are super servers. Noon aquacize is a must. Kids club drop in activities are great for under 10- don’t miss piñata on Fridays and keychain making! A few activities are extra cost but rare Vs other resort we went to. The joy squad are super! Use the app. Go to jungala! Vidanta is beautiful, lush, and high quality. Please don’t feed any wildlife ever as that’s how animals get aggressive in future. Keep food covered or put it in trash when done so birds don’t steal it! Enjoy- you’ll love it! Just don’t go to the timeshare talk!

Nos divertimos mucho con Ariadna con las actividades en la pileta infinity pool!! Fuimos con mi familia al resort. Super recomendable grandes y chicos. Por suerte gané!!!! El resort es un lujo por donde se lo mire y muy buena atención por todo el staff.

Ricardo was amazing at the joy centers! I really loved that there was stuff to do besides sitting around the pool! This was the best resort we have ever stayed at! Not much wildlife at the beach, but was warm and the have shark cages..;) Ricardo went above and beyond to find players when nobody signed up.. Everyone at the resort is awesome but Ricardo went above and beyond

We "won" a week at the Grand Mayan through a live auction. Our family of 4 stayed in a Grand Mayan master room, and it was just the right amount of space for us. The room could use some updates, but it was clean and served its purpose. The resort is HUGE and very green and lush. It takes about a day to get used to the tram system, but we quickly acclimated and got around without any issues. Check-in could be better; we didn't arrive to the resort until closer to 11:30 PM and weren't to our room until almost 1 AM. We were incredibly exhausted at this point, and were given very little direction on how the tram system works or how we could access clean drinking water. Complimentary bottles of water at check-in would have been appreciated because it was too late to buy anything on site. Though we were a bit nervous about all the mixed reviews we read online, we ended up having the time of our lives. The pools were so fun and offered hours of entertainment for our kids. We rented a cabana every day and the price was covered with a round of nachos and a few frozen beverages. All of our meals and drinks were delicious, much better quality than previous AI resorts were have visited. The beach, though rocky, was clean and well maintained. If you walk to the left about 10-15 minutes, you will find a clearer beach. Walk 5-10 minutes to the right, and there is a tent set up for oceanside massages (so heavenly!) Highlights for us included a day at the waterpark, Jungala, and the Mexican night dinner and show. My kids also loved checking out the wildlife on site, including the flamingos and coatis. We had a great time at Vidanta and would visit again in a heartbeat! Also - we were not hounded by the timeshare reps. A few asked us about attending a presentation, but were respectful when we said no. Maybe it helped that we were there with children?

This place is amazing. Great staff, so attentive. Fantastic restaurants, stunning pools. The on-site water park is a lot of fun. Joya, the Cirque Du Soliel show is fantastic. The full dinner and show are the way to go. I particularly love the scale of the architecture of all the buildings on property. The beach is rocky right out front but a 10 minute walk in either direction brings you to great sandy beaches.
