During my husband and I stay, we received a call from management telling us they needed to have access to our room for maintenance on our AC Unit which was already working perfectly fine. He informed us that he needed to come in at 9am and that the process would take 3 hours. I told him this would be a major inconvenience to us as we did not have plans on getting up early and leaving and had nowhere to go. He told us we can leave at anytime, just let him know. We agreed on that and hung up. The next morning while my husband and I were in our room relaxing, we received a knock on the door where our "Do Not Disturb " sign was placed. It was management telling us he needed to get in the room. I told him we were not ready but he was not hearing it. My husband and I eventually left and returned 3 hours later where we sat in the parking lot for awhile before returning to our room. Upon our arrival, the AC unit was still missing and being maintenance. We had to wait in our hot room (in that Atlanta heat) until he returned with our unit. I address my concerns with him there that there needed to be some sort of compensation. He was very disgusted by the suggestion and opposed to the idea of there being some sort of compensation. There was no apology for the inconvenience and the only compensation he was willing to offer was $22. I felt like it was a complete slap in the face and disregard to how his guests are being treated. We ultimately ended up leaving the hotel the next day as planned but extended our stay in Georgia by booking a hotel room at a different hotel (Hampton Inn - Snellville) for 2 days. This is obviously money I could have spent at La Quinta but I'm glad I didn't because Hampton Inn was way better. We visit Georgia alot so we will be staying at the Hampton Inn Snellville from now on. The appearance is better and the breakfast is way better than La Quinta. In addition to this incident, the room wasn't even well put together. There were cracks on the ceiling and mysterious stains around the room. I also went to use the pool once and it was something suspicious floating in the water. I immediately got out, never to return again. Should have spent more time maintaining the pool instead of bothering us. At this point, I do not want an apology from them. The time for that has passed. They showed me exactly how they felt about me the day of the incident. And if they was truly sorry, this would have been resolved the day of the incident before it got to this.
