Hotel is conveniently located, looks like or is newly refurbished, clean, tidy. Bed is comfortable and the view from the balcony is nice. (See photo). However, reception staff are not friendly nor helpful at all. No smile or good morning when they see you. Even the cleaning staff was friendlier and more helpful. Gy The three things that did not impress me are as follows: (1) In my booking I had specifically asked for 2 single beds so that I’m able to have separate duvets. However upon check-in, I was given a double bed and when I asked to change rooms, I was told the hotel was fully booked. In the absence of my own bed, I would like to at least have my own duvet. He replied that it was after 4pm and no one was manning the reception. (Note: reception is only manned between 7:30am to 4:00pm during non-public holidays. One will have to contact reception staff via the dial pad at the main entrances). He said he will help the next day. The next day I went to ask for my duvet again in person and explained that I had asked for 2 single beds in my booking but was given the wrong room. Without even bothering to check whether I had indeed specifically asked for 2 single beds, he just said I didn’t ask for it in my booking - so I showed him a copy of it and then he just mumbled he will arrange for it, as if I had added to his workload. That night, I returned to my room and there was still no duvet. I had to ask again the following day and after 3 consecutive asks, I got it. (2) Moreover my room’s air in temperature couldn’t be adjusted and when I asked for help, all the staff had to say was “oh it’s centralised and we can’t change it as it affects all others guest”. So I wonder why in the hotel booklet inside the room, it says that “each room is fitted with individual digital thermostate control for the air conditioning unit. The temperature and fan speed can be adjusted to your own liking.” (See photos). In the end because I couldn’t control my room’s temperature, I had to open the windows and was bitten by mosquitoes. Again, I had to complain twice before he made any adjustment. (3) I spent four consecutive nights at the hotel and not once did they bother to change my bedsheets. Had the staff given me my duvet and adjusted the aircon earlier, I would have given this hotel a higher rating. Two of the four nights I spent in the hotel, I was not able to sleep well at all and it is very disappointing.
