Having been stranded at Sleaford Station I searched in vain for a taxi to take me to Boston. Therefore I was relieved that I was able to spend the night at the Carre Arms Hotel. A very pleasant lady who was working at the bar put herself out to commandeer me a room and sort out payment, etc. I was allocated room 22--rather old-fashioned, but everything which I needed was there including essential heated radiators, a comfortable double bed, a hot shower which was easy to operate, tea/coffee/water and delicious biscuits and even a portable stand for my suitcase! I had a very good night's sleep and then decided I needed to find out the times of trains to Boston. The barman/chef was very helpful in this respect and let me copy down the times from his phone app. Breakfast was served in a rather grand room with glass chandeliers and served by a very pleasant young lady. The chef had worked wonders with the full English breakfast, as it was hot, of good quality and plentiful. In fact it was the best cooked breakfast I had ever tasted and I told him so. I would not hesitate to use the Carre Arms in future, as I was so impressed with the friendliness and willingness of the staff and the first class food.
