Kanapitsa Mare Hotel arvostelua

This hotel is easy to get to and from on the bus (stop 12) or ferryboat from Skiathos town We stayed here for 12 nights at the end of June in a large renovated room on 5th floor. The view from the room was spectacular and bed very comfortable. It had obviously been recently done up but just needed a bit more furniture, maybe some pictures and a sofa or chair. A peculiar thing was the bedside units were fixed onto the wall but really needed adjusting to bedside rather than half a metre away on each side! Other than these little problems all else was lovely especially the beautiful bathroom. Large swimming pool, pool bar and sunbeds were all really nice. The staff were exceptional on reception, room attendants, Mario the barman and the lovely lady who served breakfast. On an evening we ate nearby at Johnnies and The Kanapitsa Taverna which were good, but there was the option of a small (but good ) at the hotel if you didn’t want to venture far. Overall it was a lovely stay at the Kanapitsa Mare and nice introduction to Skiathos.

Just back from a 14 night stay at the Kanapista Mare; I was aware of the mixed reviews prior to our visit and wasn't too sure what to expect. I can honestly say however that there are no significant problems with the property. There some areas which could be improved upon, not all of which are the responsibility of the hotel. Firstly the exceedingly steep slope loading to reception from the road. Whilst the hotel can do little about this, TUI, the tour operator should detail this in their description as there will be a lot of disabled people who simply would struggle to manage this consequently this constitutes a significant omission and a breach of their responsibility under the Disability Discrimination Act. Clearly there is a possibility of car hire which would alleviate much of this problem. On occasions loud music can be heard until the early hours coming from a party, yuppy, beach bar on Porto Nostos beach. The music is electro style and lacks any type of endearing qualities. Again the hotel can do little about this as it has been approved by the authorities. The owner however, is aware of the issue and is keen to get further controls exercised. This is not a significant problem as it occurs maybe twice per week and if you have your doors closed and air con on you seldom hear it. The only sugar free drinks available at the bar was Coke Zero. Being a pre-diabetic watching his carb intake, this was quite restrictive. The option of low Cal tonic would have been a nice alternative. The pool is large and deep and salt controlled. The salt content however is quite significant ,much higher than the sea, which is unusual. That said the pool was clean and refreshing, loungers and shade were never a problem. We had several lunches and 1 evening meal at the hotel and these were more than satisfactory and competitively priced. The room was one of the old type but spacious, clean and with a large balcony, shower and nice Seaview. The bed was a super king and very comfortable Pillows were ok but a little too spongy for us. Breakfasts offered a good choice of hot and cold although as with many hotels it became repetitive after a while. The buffet was always well stocked and serviced by staff on a regular basis. All staff were pleasant and a particular thanks goes to the receptionists and barman. Overall I would have no problem staying again however, we seldom go back to the same hotel.

We had a great time here, everything was clean, room service everyday with clean towels and bed made. Breakfast was really good with plenty of choice. All the staff were very polite and very friendly. We would thoroughly recommend. Only one small comment being British we would have liked tea/coffee facilities in the room

We have recently stayed at this hotel and had such a amazing time the hotel is beautiful and the staff are Faultless i personally would recommend this hotel bedroom very comfortable including the beds the cleanliness of the hotel was excellent all in all we gad the most wonderful stay definitely visit again

a steep slope up to the entrance , registered at reception , told room tax for 10 nights 70 euros , room 604 , lift up to 3rd floor then walk to next lift to 6th floor , room more 2and a half star . breakfast 7-30 till 11.0 , ok pool bar 11.0 ok for a drink , but no food till 1.0 ., only pool bar where unable to buy an ice-cream , no entertainment at night , staff where great , but sadly not 4 star

The first thing I want to say is the staff were all brilliant. Reception, breakfast room, cleaners and maintenance staff. The hotel is very clean and the breakfast room and balcony are outstanding. There is a large salt water pool which is very deep at one end (3m) Unfortunately the only way to get in the pool is by the metal ladders. This is prohibitive for a lot of people. Also there are no umbrellas around the pool which makes it unbearably hot in August. There are some bamboo type shelters but only about a dozen sun beds fit under them. The pool bar is manned by a lovely guy who makes great cocktails. Unfortunately you can only hear the mysic if you are right next to the bar. There is no music to be heard around the pool and unfortunately it is rather Soulless. There is no entertainment at all in the hotel not even any background music. The only bar is the pool bar and there are no bars in the hotel itself, this was very dissapointing, not being able to have a drink in comfort in the evening. Our room was kept clean and the maid was very friendly and efficient. The hotel has amazing views both sea and mountain. The hotel had no air conditioning in corridors which made it very hot. This hotel is not 4 star. No bars in walking distance and only one restaurant. Great bus service. We wouldn't visit again as it just didn't feel like a holiday hotel.

We loved this hotel. We loved everything about it and I honestly have no idea why some reviewers are so rude about the staff and/or the actual hotel. Sonia and Marios are just so so lovely, they can’t do enough for you. The receptionists are the same; just lovely. We had a bulb go out in our corridor and it was so dark we were literally feeling our way down the wall to our room. Went to reception to report it (not to complain…!) and it was all sorted 15 minutes later. We had another issue when the husband dropped something down the basin…! Again, a trip to reception to report it and the maintenance man was straight up and sorted it for us - brilliant service! The hotel is on a quite steep slope, but it’s Greece and you need to burn off a few calories what with all the wonderful food frankly, but if you have mobility issues I’d be a bit cautious. The view was fantastic over the sea both from the terrace and from our room. The pool is fantastic, with an actual deep end, which is fabulous and most pools are just fairly shallow leisure type pools, so this was perfect. The bar food and the dinner food is just lovely and so is breakfast. The weather was 31 degrees at 10am and the aircon did a brilliant job cooling our room down for us. We had a truly wonderful time at the hotel and we were genuinely so sad to say goodbye to Sonia and Marios, they are a real credit. We will most definitely book again. Just came home from a 10day stay. Lovely hotel, clean spacious room, nice area by the pool. Our rooms were cleaned daily and fresh towels too. We were on the 6th floor (there are lifts!) so had beautiful views! Breakfast had a wide variety for everyone as did the food at the poolside restaurant. Staff were very friendly, the ladies at reception were helpful and always had a smile. It is on a steep slope but climbing up the hill kept us active! Bus stop a couple of minutes walk so very handy. Kanapitsa and Tzaneria beach easily accessible within a few minutes. Supermarket next door which is handy for water and snacks. Would definitely stay again.

Although the entrance is very steep and I am disabled a hire car made it possible. If you have mobility problems the hotel has a steep entrance of about 25m. There are lots of steps in the hotel but most have hand rails with the exception of the restaurant. However we enjoyed breakfast, lots of choice and the evening meals were well priced and adequate portions. The staff are really helpful. Rooms dated with a 70s TV but spotlessly clean. Bell ' hotel a metà strada tra le spiagge più famose e Skiathos Town.Camere grandi e pulite,a noi è capitato il terrazzo con vista mare, fantastico! Colazione varia e abbondante, possibilità di cenare a bordo piscina.Personale gentilissimo e disponibile.Lo consiglio.

The views from this hotel are beautiful. The male staff on breakfast duty and pool bar very polite. The chamber maid delightful and kept the 2 rooms lovely and clean. That’s the good stuff. Most definitely not a 4 star hotel. Lots of issues (we must have had the same room with rusty taps as previous review) air con was dated in bedroom and non existent in public areas. Hairdryer broken but one was given when asked for like wise kettle was given when asked for. 20 Euros needed for safe key and only 1 room key allowed. List given on how much you’d be charged for any damage to sheets/towels due to make up etc. Think the room described as a gym is stretching artist licence. Very angry manager / he completely lost it with a guest who complained about lack of aircon one morning at breakfast and when the lift broke with me stuck inside it actually had the nerve to ask what I had done to make it stop !! Think the hotel maybe going through a revamp and the location is great but like I say 4 star I don’t think so ! A good example of Greece upgrading hotels this year to make more tourist tax. No entertainment available, although Barman kindly stayed open longer to serve while the football was on.

Esperienza molto positiva , struttura accogliente con personale disponibile, cortese e simpatico ( Mario e Sonia al bar ad esempio) . Molto varia la prima colazione , ottima la posizione rispetto al mare, molto buona la camera ed il relativo bagno. Consigliatissimo.

We have just returned from a week at Kanapitsa Mare Hotel. We had a lovely week. The hotel was quiet and clean. The pool was salt water, a great size and never overly busy. The staff were lovely - Mario and Sonia looked after us all week. The rooms were a good size and cleaned daily. The hotel food was good value for money and tasty. The location was perfect. Close to a wonderful beach - Porto nostos. Great for snorkelling and water sports. Easy access to the bus stop at 12. Lovely little supermarket at the bottom of the hotel drive. We ate out at some local tavernas on a few nights and they were great too.
