Mirbeau Inn & Spa - Skaneateles

Mirbeau in Skaneateles is better suited for daytime spa services rather than an overnight destination experience. While my massage was very well executed, there is nothing else the spa has to offer other than a warm foot bath in the waiting area and rather small outdoor hot tub. The spa services as well as the dining options are incredibly overpriced. Food was subpar and underseasoned. We encountered additional issues due to a 3 hour power outage. For the prices they are charging, perhaps they should invest in a better chef, a cold plunge pool, and generator! Highly recommend Aurora Inn and Spa in Aurora, NY instead.

Ya not anything special very over priced it’s def showing age with cracked floors and dented would entertainment centers the housekeepers get moody when they do not get to access the rooms as well as bombard in like loose chicken from Mexico

3.5 - My husband and I had a 2 night, 3 day mid-week getaway at Mirbeau in June. Overall, we had a very relaxing experience. Rooms - we had a king room with a garden view on the first floor. It was spacious with a seating area next to a fireplace. There was a claw foot tub and a separate shower. Not a huge fan of having a shower curtain. As others have mentioned the paint and lighting in the rooms make it quite dark and, the dark color on the ceiling made it feel closed in. The dark colors are also a stark contrast to the lush gardens outside. The sliding glass doors opened onto an outdoor area shared with a few other rooms. There was a bistro set near the pond and we were able to enjoy breakfast there. We saw all the koi, ducks/birds, bunnies and frogs. The area is lovely but some areas could use some weeding. Spa - the spa dressing rooms are well appointed. There are changing areas, rest rooms, showers, lockers, a sauna and a steam room. They have ice cold washcloths, towels, ice water, every toiletry you might need, hairdryers and even a swimsuit dryer. The quiet room has several reclining beds where you can rest, read, sleep, wait for a treatment. They surround a foot bath where you sit on cushions on the floor. There's ice water and hot tea available. White noise machines drown out most noise creating a peaceful atmosphere. The aqua terrace is just outside. It has an oversized hot tub area, a seating area with four cushioned chairs around a fireplace, several other table and chair groupings and a bar. The hot tub is nice, very relaxing after a massage or class. It's not a very large area overall, and we did have trouble finding a seat one of the days. On hot days, it would be nice to have a cooler pool area or a cold plunge pool. Treatments - we had a couples massage, something we have done many times at other spas. My husband had a wonderful experience with his massage. She focused on his problem areas and did a wonderful job. My massage was quite the opposite. It did not seem like a professional massage. I spent about 90% of the time on my stomach which became quite uncomfortable. The massuese was rough and parts of the experience were painful. After the massage when we went to settle up and have everything billed to our room, we had to stand in line for a half hour. The attendant was clearly new and overwhelmed. We did express that we had a mixed review on our treatment. At first, we were charged double, but eventually, after my husband went back to the desk later, the error was corrected and, we were given a small percentage off the treatment. I did email the spa manager at the encouragement of the staff, but received no reply. Dining - we had 1 room service breakfast, 1 breakfast and 1 lunch in the dining room on the porch. Beautiful and smells delish!

Mirbeau Skaneateles is beautiful. We stayed in the suite and it had plenty of room with ample outdoor area which overlooked the pond and garden. The spa is really nice with a quiet area and outdoor hot tub. The women's locker room includes a steam and sauna. The location is just outside the village of Skaneateles, but close enough to walk, short drive or ride the bikes that are offer at the Inn. I highly recommend staying at Mirbeau.

From the minute you enter the Inn and Spa right through relaxation room, spa treatments, grotto, wine bar and restaurant to comfortable rooms, our experience was top notch. Thank you! In the stress filled world, it’s nice to be pampered for a bit!
