The location is good in the park. Room good too, same as photos. But the service is really bad. I might have lost something at the room and tried to reach them via email and even called them. But there was no response from them after 4 working days. Very disappointed at their service.

Got the deluxe garden and enjoyed the bathtub in the room. Just that my room was right next to the entrance so it was very convenient. Room size was great.
However maybe due to the hotel going to close down soon alot of things are not available. Buffet too expensive. No food available after 3pm. It’s quite a far and dark walk from the hotel to the city.
Pool is not well maintained. Garden also not usable.
I stayed at this hotel for two nights with my girlfriend, and unfortunately, the service did not meet the expectations of a five-star establishment. Our stay included a complimentary high tea, but the experience was far from seamless.
When we arrived for high tea, no menu was provided, and a waiter simply asked what we wanted to drink—without offering any options. No one explained what would be served, so we were left guessing as a box of assorted pastries and snacks arrived. When we asked about the items, even the waiter wasn’t sure what they were.
Beyond this, several other issues stood out:
1. Room Condition: Upon checking in, the air conditioning was weak, and the floor was noticeably dusty in the corners.
2. Bathroom Maintenance: The rain shower knob was already loose and ended up breaking when I tried to turn it (likely due to previous damage). To their credit, a staff member came and fixed it quickly.
3. Slow Service: I requested cutlery to be sent to the room, and after 30 minutes of waiting, I had to call again. It finally arrived 15 minutes later—meaning I waited 45 minutes for basic utensils.
4. Unreliable Service Requests: I requested ice around 3:30 PM and was assured it would be delivered. After waiting 45 minutes, nothing arrived. I called again around 6–7 PM, and still, no one showed up. Eventually, I had to go downstairs myself, only to find no staff anywhere. The only way I could get ice was by walking to the restaurant.
To be fair, the overall experience was still okay—just definitely not up to five-star standards. Room: 3.5/5, Service: 2/5.
* service being 2/5 bc although help wasn’t always available, when it was, the staff were rather friendly.
For a luxury hotel, the lack of communication, service delays, and basic maintenance issues were disappointing. While there were some helpful staff members, the overall experience fell short of expectations.
Honestly this place has so much potential, with proper managment of amenities and staff, really think this place could be a big hit.

My guest had an extremely unpleasant experience at Fort Canning Hotel and would not recommend staying here.
First, he requested an early check-in and arrived at the reception at 12 PM for his lunch at the restaurant where he was assisted by the manager, Ivena Calista. Despite his request, he was told check-in was strictly at 3 PM. When he asked to speak with the General Manager for help or assist while waiting in the restaurant having his lunch, GM Marcel Li, he was incredibly rude, dismissively saying, "Why must we give you the room before 3PM?" instead of offering any assistance. Even when he considered cancelling his reservation due to the poor services, the GM refused to help.
Despite the initial bad impression, he have no choice but decided to proceed with his stay after his personal assistant told him that the hotel staff by the name Maggie managed to prepare a room with high floor and good view room it only got worse. It felt as though the staff were deliberately looking for trouble. They later accused him of causing a burn mark on the bathtub in his room and attempted to charge him $500 without any proper investigation. This accusation was baseless as no one who stayed in the room smokes, they had no lighters, and if anything had actually burned, the smoke detector should have gone off. Additionally, they did not even use the bathtub, only the showerhead.
The overall service was appalling, and the way the management handled these situations was unacceptable. I strongly advise against staying at Fort Canning Hotel if you expect decent customer service and fair treatment.

As reported by housekeeping, the mark was also not present 2 days into the stay and only appeared on the third day of the stay, during which a photo was taken as evidence of the damage.

Nice and colonial feel hotel. Convenient location.
Hotel Fort Canning is situated in the centre of Singapore, if you know the footbridge to MRT it is just a short 10-minute walk to Dhoby Ghaut MRT with three lines operating in the station. You can get to anywhere you like within short distance, including Clarke Quay, Istana and (obviously) the park. It can be slightly inconvenient if you have luggage with you, so what we did was to take a grab ride on our way to and from the airport. Extremely spacious, but the air-conditioning was loud at night and some of us could not fall asleep on the first day. Also, water pressure is slightly inconsistent and little water flows from the shower and the tub, but the issue was minor and it did not deter us from staying here for the next visit.
