Alte Kalkoefen Lodge

Die Alte Kalkofen Lodge kann man uneinig empfehlen. Die kleinen Häuschen sind sehr sauber und individuell liebevoll gestaltet. Man kann vor Ort Wildtiere beobachten. Es gab ein sehr leckeres Abendessen und auch das Frühstück war reichhaltig und schmackhaft angerichtet. Das gesamte Personal und das Lodge Besitzerehepaar waren hilfreich und freundlich.

There is nothing here not to like. The owner is very helpful. The rooms are delightful. The food is incredible. The staff makes you smile. The greenhouse will thrill anyone into plants. The animal viewing is fantastic. This is a place that makes your heart sing. There are some issues for someone with mobility issues but the staff helped override the issues. Can't wait to go back. Wish we had stayed here and drove to Fish River Canyon for a day trip. The accommodations there were marginal.

We visited the lodge for a second time and had once again a perfect and extraordinary stay thanks to our Hosts.

The whole experience was wonderful. We arrived late and the owners were already waiting for us and had prepared a delicious and very, very complete dinner. Salad, main course with meat, side dishes and mini quiches (very good), and even dessert. The food was homemade and I felt at home. The little house where we stayed was very charming, a mix of old and modern. The house was all painted white inside and had some very peculiar and unique details such as the sinks, the indoor shower. The beds were facing a window where there was an outdoor shower. And the best thing is early in the morning with daylight entering the house to see the animals so close by walking. I loved it and I recommend it!

Super friendly Host. We really loved our stay there. Great staff - perfect Dinner and Breakfast. We would love to come back next time.

Die Lodge und die Campsite ist wunderschön und mit viel Liebe zum Detail eingerichtet und dekoriert. Das Essen ist mit Recht hoch gelobt und fantastisch angerichtet. Nur der Saft zum tollen Frühstück mutete etwas künstlich an. Von der Terasse hat man einen tollen Blick auf die Landschaft und das, bei Nacht beleuchtete Wasserloch. Frikkie und Hilde sind tolle Gastgeber und kümmern sich sehr lieb um ihre Gäste. Selbst Leoparden werden von dem tierlieben Besitzer auf der Farm geduldet.
