Sigiriya King's Resort

第一次寫差評，服務實在是太差了，沒有wifi，沒有信號，和前台説了很多次總是説修理但是也沒有修，耽誤了很重要的工作.

Stayed here 4 nights so we could do Lions rock, an elephant safari & visit Polonnaruwa but also have some down time. We booked half board. The food was so good & reasonably priced we didn’t want to eat anywhere else. Whilst half board was a set menu you had various choices. The flavours were amazing. We asked for the curry off the ala carte menu one night & were told ‘that’s no problem’ & I don’t think anything was a problem for this hotel. We had our final breakfast in the birds nest tree house. A lovely experience. The hotel arranged our tours & they were fantastic with very knowledgeable drivers & guides. We saw lots of elephants. We set off at 12.30 & we’re back at 4.30; the national park isn’t far away. For Polonnaruwa we set off at 8.30 & were back for 3, again leaving time to chill back at the hotel We walked to the Rock which was only 20 minutes. We then got a tuk tuk to the Gastro Pub in the village (recommended for a drink or food) & tuk tuk back. We stayed in 2 rooms one, our second room, with its own plunge pool. We didn’t book the plunge pool room as I couldn’t find any reference to it on their website nor any photos or mention of it on this site. The 4 plunge pool rooms are a new addition & I would highly recommend them. Amazing views from the pool. That said the other rooms have the same view & the same layout & are very lovely in their own right. We loved seeing all the wildlife from our rooms. Plenty of birds. We saw monkeys & a mongoose. Elephants are known to frequent the grounds. Finally the service from every member of staff needs a special mention. It is clear that they are very proud of Sri Lanka & the hotel. They are so friendly & accommodating & nothing was too much trouble. Our overall experience at this hotel was something I don’t think we’ll ever forget & it will be forever in our hearts. If you are thinking about staying here when in Sigirya, stop. Just do it, you will not regret it.

Wonderful setting and extremely well run hotel. Our lodge was very well appointed and had a lovely aspect towards the two rocky features . If you are feeling energetic then you can climb either or both preferably for sunrise or sunset. Alternatively we had a more leisurely early morning fabulous bird watching walk with the owner , Mr Kalika ,around the lake and local lanes. We also had a great cookery course with the chef. The staff are a credit to the hotel and its owners. The swimming pool is a welcome relief from the Sri Lankan heat and very well maintained and cleaned. We wouldn’t hesitate to recommend this hotel.

This hotel has stunning views and a lovely relaxing environment. You look directly over a lake filled with such as eagle and egrets and beyond that are the Lion and Pidurangala rocks. You can walk to both rocks directly from the hotel ( but if doing sunrise you will need a tuktuk to avoid the wildlife) We stayed in a large suite room, which was truly stunning. The standard room is adequate and value for money. Restaurant has a good range of choices. The star of the show was breakfast. The best was the Sri Lankan choice but the European style also good provided delicious fruit, sweet treats and eggs and bacon. It kept us filled up for the whole day. On two occasions it was served to us in a treehouse with wonderful views over the whole area. We would definitely recommend this hotel if you are coming to stay in the area.

We stayed at the Sigiriya Kings Resort as part of our tour with Two Wheeled Expeditions. It's an incredible oasis surrounded by nature!!! Beautiful, luxurious, furnished to a very high level. The views are outstanding, Lions Rock is prominent and a short drive away - what an accomplishment to walk up to the top and see the views at sunrise. The meals were delicious and very well prepared, the team there are very accommodating and helpful especially when removing lizards from rooms! The family that own the resort are so welcoming and have plans to enhance the site but cannot recommend the experience enough, it was wonderful.

Absolutley fabulous experience, staff went above and beyond expectations. We were told this was our home for the couple of days we were there and were not dissapointed. special mention to the restaurant staff Sumith, Lal & Samantha and also Sandun at the front office. Stunning setting surrounded by nature and a great view of Lions Rock.
