Stayed at Rimba Resort, Sibu Island from 10 to 12 June while my 14-year-old son did his PADI diving course—and we loved it. The dive team was super friendly and professional. Huge thanks to Adam for being such a patient and encouraging instructor—my son felt totally at ease and learned so much in just a couple of days. The resort is peaceful and laid-back. Clean rooms, good food, and really nice staff. Everything felt easy and relaxing, which made the whole trip enjoyable. Thanks again to the Rimba team (especially Adam!) for a great experience. We’ll definitely be back!

Walking to the morning buffet on your right the jungle chirps, rattles, whistles, trills, croaks, cooes and hoots. On your left babyreefsharks silently cruise the shallows, and in front of you butterflies as big as birds flirt along the path. The buffet is plentiful and healthy. The crew is friendly, gracious and resourceful. Sporadically there is no electricity nor water but that’s part of the eco friendly island charm. And one doesn’t really miss it. Why was Tom Hanks upset in Cast Away? We are so sorry to leave we might utter some woeful animal sounds ourselves.

Last minute getaway my birthday to this very raw island. No TV, no electronics, no AC. Digging, knocking, climbing, collecting, they said they felt like they're cavemen 😆 Plus swimming, snorkeling, playing card games, talking and lots of singing. The kids also started their discovery dive course and dived for their first time! Things we loved: 1. The wild boar that came to our hut everyday. 2. The beautiful stretch of pebbles in a variety of colours and shapes, which we do not see elsewhere. 3. The house coral reef, even though not the most colourful and prettiest we have seen, still pretty amazing as they are really huge! Just like an underwater metropolis with many skyscrapers. 4. The millions stars that shone so bright at night. We saw Orion and our daughter was the happiest to see her Leo.

We have just had a great weekend at Rimba resort! My husband and I went with our two sons (4 and 6 years old). As soon as we arrived on the island we instantly relaxed and the boys were in their element exploring! The staff were fantastic, always friendly and pleasant and they couldn’t do enough for us and the boys. They even organized a conservation club in the afternoon which the boys loved! It’s so peaceful to potter around the resort, paddle boarding and playing on the sand. I would also recommend a boat trip to one of the neighboring islands organized by Rimba. This was my third time at Rimba but first as a family of 4 and it was wonderful! We’ll be back!

From the moment we stepped off the boat onto this fantastic island, we felt at ease because all the staff were super friendly and welcoming. Our boys learnt to dive and the diving instructor, Adam was absolutely brilliant with them. We also did a refresher course and other dives and Blake along with Sophie gave same superb instruction as well as being supportive during my diving wobbles! The food was excellent, there was a nice mix of Malaysian and Western food and the staff were very kind and friendly. The accommodation has mosquito nets, hot water but it's too warm to use that and is clean and well maintained. The beach and place isn't overcrowded, it is really calm and relaxing. It isn't a party place so if that's ok with you , this is an amazing place to be. Also, the cocktails made by the lovely staff were fantastic- a little expensive but that's because it's an Islamic country so alcohol is shipped in. We loved it there and again thank all the staff for their kindness.

This was our 12th visit to Rimba and probably the best so far. Great team, couldn’t do enough for us. Excellent food, diving etc. If you’re looking for somewhere to completely unwind, this is it. The most beautiful beach with coral reef. You won’t want to leave. We’ll definitely be back soon!

Wir waren fünf Tage im Resort. Unser schwerbehinderter Sohn war im Rollstuhl mit. Es war ein Familienausflug von Singapur aus. Ca. 3 h Fahrt plus Übersetzen mit dem Boot. Hat alles prima geklappt. Sehr freundliches Personal und sehr angenehme Unterkunft. Luxus kann man natürlich nicht erwarten. Es war allerdings sehr sauber und wir haben uns alle wohl gefühlt. Auch ohne Klimaanlage war es super. Die kühle Prise vom Meer war toll. Wir haben dort sehr gut geschlafen. Wir würden zu jeder Zeit dort wieder einkehren. Ein Traum! Der auch Nachteile hat. Der Plastikmüll ist dort überall nicht in den Griff zu bekommen. Dafür können die Betreiber nichts. Sie versuchen mit Sammelaktionen den Müll zu beseitigen, was wir ganz toll finden. Hier ist die "WELT" daran schuld. Wir alle!. Wir zerstören solche Paradiese wie das Rimba Resort. Wir hoffen, dass die Welt reagiert. Trotz auch dieser negativen Bewertung: Besucht dass Resort, es lohnt sich. Ein Traum, den ich mit meinen 63 Jahren nicht missen möchte. Ich hoffe wir sehen diese Anlage noch einmal!

Wir habe einen Kurztrip von Singapur gemacht (5 Tage). Ca. 3 h Fahrzeit plus übersetzen mit dem Boot. Unser behinderter Sohn war im Rollstuhl mit dabei. Das Personal und alle Menschen dort sind sehr hilfreich und nett. Die Unterkünfte waren sehr gut, auch ohne Klimaanlage kein Problem. Haben dort super geschlafen. Kam immer eine Prise vom Meer, dass ca. 50 Meter von uns entfernt war. Luxus kann man natürlich auf der Insel nicht erwarten aber das wollten wir ja auch nicht. Hervorzuheben ist das fantastische Essen in Malaysia. Es war hervorragend. Die Gastfreundschaft war auch hervorragend. Zu jeder Zeit Wieder. Wir würden uns sehr freuen, wenn wir wieder dorthin kämen. Es war ein einmaliges Erlebnis.

We travelled from Singapore - in less than 4 hours we were in another world. The staff are all super friendly, and nothing was too much trouble. We visited mid-week so pretty much had the resort to ourselves. The rooms are basic/rustic but comfy, and the food was delicious.
