If you're looking for a beautiful stay, amidst the mountains, away from the bustling city of Shimla, you should certainly stay here. Though our room wasn't mountain-facing, every time we stepped out on the porch, the view was breathtaking. We loved our stay; the room was clean and well-maintained. For our dining experience, Gitesh was on his toes to get our tea quickly to us, which is noteworthy for us who need our morning Chai before everything else. An additional note of appreciation to our chauffeur, Mr. Ajay, who needs an applause for his skillful driving, patience, and lovely anecdotes about the places around. Whenever we are visiting again, we would need Mr. Ajay as our chauffeur again. Must say, he is one gem of a person and ensured that our trip is smooth! Also, huge thanks to Ankit (Travel Desk) for helping us plan the trip and making sure we have a skilled chauffeur! Others that we want to thank for our stay - Kumar Verma (smooth and pleasant buggy rides), Nikhil (for prompt room service) Sachin, Ankit, Rohan (reception) Vikas (Stargazing activity) Sneha and Budhi (housekeeping) Sayak, Bhandari, Neeraj (dining at Tragopan) Couple of suggestions - 1. The dining staff at Tragopan could leverage some additional training in terms of treating all guests equally. We observed the staff showing a steeper inclination in terms of pleasantries toward foreign guests. 2. The bread and other baked goods seemed to be too dry, lying exposed in the air, perhaps something could be devised to ensure the baked items retain the softness and moisture. 3. In our experience, at no other Taj hotel we have found ONLY single bottles of toiletries except for Taj Theog despite the booking made for two people. Not sure the rationale behind the strict rationing, but it felt a little stingy because we are big fans of Forest Essential toiletries.
