Wonderful family trip Hosts are more than welcoming. We had a wonderful time with our family especially in the hot tub. Very quiet, clean, warm and relaxing. Will be back again with the fishing rods!

We've just returned from a long weekend staying in Cedar Lodge based at the South View Lodges. I cannot recommend this place enough, from the moment we stepped through the door to the moment we departed we felt like we were in heaven. We were welcomed with a bottle of bubbly and a roaring fire. The lodge was immaculate and very modern. Jill came in and welcomed us and answered all the questions we had. She recommended local places to eat and showed us how to use the hot tub and log burner. She invited us to come and visit their alapas too! The weather wasn't on our side thanks to Storm Bert but this didn't take away from our weekebd away, the covered sunken hot tub meant we could still enjoy it despite the awful rain and high winds! It was the perfect excuse to actually relax and enjoy the surroundings whilst in the comfort of the beautiful, warm, and cosy lodge. A small selection of tea, coffee and hot chocolate are provided, as well as toilet paper and cleaning products should you need them Highly recommend staying here and we wouldn't hesitate to go back! We also met Jill's husband Andrew who was equally lovely and welcoming. Thank you so much for a weekend we won't forget ❤️

This  location ticked all our boxes when booking: fishing holiday for husband's 50th, relaxing for me with hot tub and quiet location. Jill and Andrew were welcoming, and nothing was too much trouble (not that we had many queries). First let me stay considering it is so close to Exeter. Although opened 2 years ago, the decor was as pristine as the website images. Both bedrooms were beautifully decorated, with comfy beds and en-suite bathrooms and had underfloor heating throughout the property. The lounge, dining area and kitchen were all nicely decorated and had everything that you needed for the comforts from home. The outside seating  and hot tub were undercover so even when it did rain, we could enjoy it still.  The fishing was everything my husband hoped for, catching 10+ fish each day.  And to add to our enjoyment, we had alpacas in the field next to us. They came to watch us each day and we took advantage to go feed them one day: the boys, the girls and the babies. All too cute, and an Devon Show Awarding male as well! A treat. A great holiday and everything we wanted from it!

An absolutely wonderful place to stay, the owners Jill and Andrew are so helpful and friendly and they have created a beautiful place to stay. Lodges are high spec with fast Wi-Fi and each of them is by a lake. Fishing is available but it definitely is not solely based around fishing and not all guests do. We did and the fishing was really good with some lovely fish. Location is really peaceful but with Exeter within easy reach to explore - local taxi firm recommended by the owners was brilliant. We loved it so much we have booked again for next year!

We have just returned from a week's stay at Heron lodge with our boys. From the moment we arrived we knew we had picked the perfect place! The backdrop was stunning with a lovely view of the lake and a field to our left with alpacas roaming around! The lodge itself was immaculate and the homemade scones were delicious! Jill and Andrew were perfect hosts and on our second day we were able to feed the alpacas which my teenage sons really enjoyed along with meeting their three gorgeous dogs. The site itself was very peaceful and we all really enjoyed the hottub. If you enjoy a spot of fishing the lake was amazing and having access right outside the lodge was perfect! With every mod con the lodge really catered for all our needs and the washing machine came in very handy! We had a very hot week in Devon but only being half an hours drive from Exmouth beach made it a great stay! We will definitely be returning and would like to experience a winter stay!
